Democrats may be divided, but at least they want to talk about health care. If it was up to the republicans there wouldn't be any debate at all.

This country needs better health care and health care insurance reform. < :-)

Oh, there would be debate, just not about this specific bill. We've been having debate up til now haven't we. This vote is nothing more then a chance to bring this specific bill before the full senate. Nothing about the debate on health care. Please note the difference. Republicans are willing to talk, and, if Dems put forth a plan that actually cuts costs, doesn't fund abortions, doesn't nationalize health care. IE includes tort reforms and more modest economic incentives for insurance companies to ban certain practices, then that bill, would have a majority of support from Republicans. Dems don't want that though. They want the boondoggle. Expanded government, poor care that is standard practice in so many other European countries. The majority of the US doesn't want that.

This country needs better health care and health care insurance reform." Well, who messed it up in the first place?

Now, for those who don't bother buying insurance, I hope the mods here delete their posts when they complain when they have to buy it now. What a gift from the gov to the insurance companies!!!

anyway, I don't care that most are wrong on this issue, this is going to open up new doors for business.

    Republicans are willing to talk...

No they aren't. Remember this last vote was 60 to 39. Along party lines. If the republicans had gotten 41 votes they'd be filibustering the debate. < :-)

what I really found odd, were several polls asking us if we think politicians should read the bill first before voting on it. How can you vote on something you haven't read?

Molenir, you're right on most points, but this is going to go through whether you like it or not, so start getting involved in med biz or insurance. The bigger the mess, the more money can be found and dems are real good at throwing money at problems.

This country needs better health care and health care insurance reform." And what is so much better about this proposal... I mean since most of the people voting on it haven't read what's in it, I thought maybe perhaps you have.

Doctors, health insurance companies, health care products companies prescription drug companies and individuals.

Doctors who are bad and their licenses are never pulled.

Health Insurance Companies that take away rights, refuse to offer health care for those who have pre-existing conditions, running up premiums and reducing coverage.

Health Care Products Companies who make items that are implanted. Over the counter products that are just trash.

Prescription Drug Companies for running up prices as high as they can get away with. For campaigning/lobbing to keep US drugs from being re-imported back into the US. Drug companies for pandering drugs for cures that don't exist.

And Individuals for not taking the best of care of themselves. Individuals for not requiring that this country saw to the health care of the country's citizens.

These are just a small sampling of things that messed up health care. The list can be expanded and expanded.

Add to this list. < :-)

No money and there are the unemployed. Is this an Oxymoron? Health care as a national priority? Start training people. Put them to work. Barter if we have to.

No one should be left to suffer because they do not have Insurance. Everyone gets healthcare in the USA right now. It is just that the burden falls on the taxpayer one way or another. Everyone should contribute, for all get sick. Immigration should be orderly.

Now this bill should pass and be fine tuned with the suggestions put forth by Molenir. Politics must be put aside for the common good. No money and people not working just does not make sense to me. Money is a measure of productivity of goods and services. Offer people work in the health care industry, put feedback mechanisms in to fine tune the system quickly with input from all the stake holders.

Once we get a system running that is efficient and effective we should work with others in the world to help all of humanity. A bit altruistic and has a big danger of the "ends justifying the means". This should never be the case. The human person and their dignity should be central. From thence we could make proper choices.

As a nation, the USA has the opportunity to really help out the world, if we do not make a mess out of it. Also, one must be aware that a solution is never final. Compromises must be made. This bill is for the common good; collective and individual good. But it does have intrinsic dangers of eroding the freedoms of the individual. The constitution must be considered and will be. That is why the result of this exercise should be quite good and could be a shining light. It is compassionate for the masses and must protect the rights of the individual. Very interesting.

Doctors who are bad and their licenses are never pulled." have you ever dealt with the VA or the USPH? Try pulling one of their licenses.

Health Insurance Companies that take away rights, refuse to offer health care for those who have pre-existing conditions, running up premiums and reducing coverage." Who set most their regulations in place? And while many do refuse you care for pre-existing conditions, guess what so do state health care.

Health Care Products Companies who make items that are implanted. Over the counter products that are just trash." approved by the FDA, a government org

Prescription Drug Companies for running up prices as high as they can get away with." that they make a profit and pay taxes on.. to the gov

For campaigning/lobbing to keep US drugs from being re-imported back into the US. Drug companies for pandering drugs for cures that don't exist." And yet it is Hillary and many of the dems that are the highest recipients of such lobby money! You do know a great number of them are going to come out shining.

And Individuals for not taking the best of care of themselves. Individuals for not requiring that this country saw to the health care of the country's citizens." Well, I for one am very happy that we can now ban smoking, tattoos, bad eating habits and alcohol. I was hoping you would have at least been down for the idea of fining those for having un-protected sex too... its ok, we are still on the same page!!!!

These are just a small sampling of things that messed up health care. The list can be expanded and expanded." Well, as old as you are, I hope you live long enough to see me make some fat bank on this. But, I think you are going to be very disappointed, but its ok, what I make out of it I'll treat you to a dinner.

    The FDA is a laugh.

Just because the things you mentioned might be correct, doesn't make these industries any less the cause of poor health care and poor health care insurance coverage. < :-)

Please stick around for the next few years. I'm gonna make it big on this and the care will still be the same if not worse. I'll take care of you though. I actually do like you, really. Smith too.

The health care system needs only minor fixes. Americans themselves need the big fix, since most are driven by their wants and not their needs. Most want new cars, flat screen TVs and vacations -- health insurance, who needs it, I'm healthy. The GOA estimated only about 8 million Americans need support to pay for insurance. Before commenting here, posters should gain some real knowledge of the problem. Good place to start would be to read the book "Flatlined" its a real eye-opener to where the problems lie...

Will Japanese, Canadians, Mexicans still be able to get quality American health care if this Gov plan goes thru? =Forget the Americans, in times like these you must think of yourself first.

If people really really thought about it, we could boycott the entire industry, of course hard as it is, and force changes and all this would be without government intervention. But again, most people need the government to tell them what they need and what they want.

The answer is no. If this plan goes through, it will result in a major drop in quality, and innovation. Meaning, you'd be better off just staying home and suffering through the bad docs in your home country, then coming to the overworked docs in ours.
