Wishing him dead might be a step too far. Just out of office and away from power will do me. Zimbabwe used to be one of the more successful African countries. Mugabe has almost single handedly sunk his people and the country into intense poverty.

Why does he continue to disrespect Barack Obama like this?

Funny how quickly they managed to count the "votes" this time. When the other guy won it took weeks for the results to be announced.

China will be happy: another willing despot for them to sell their arms to.

And people complain about the "corrupt" Japanese political system and society in general? Shoot nothing beats Zimbabwe at the moment.

This set politics in Africa back 30-40 years. this is terrible. it proves to anyone that violence is the only way to attain one's objectives. If the other African nations are not willing to intervene, then its futile for the major powers or the UN to get in there.

Mugabe is in power. Score one for the anti-war crowd.

  • northlondon at 01:59 PM JST - 30th June

For everyone's information, Mugabe does not run Zimbabwe. He is merely a political figurehead. Zimbabwe is run by a military elite, basically the army chiefs of staff and the police chiefs of staff. They tell Mugabe what to do.

taiko666: My happiness has nothing to do with Mugabe's victory, accept the fact, fact that international community has failed to stop murders, tortures, rapes etc...mentioned by you.

  • northlondon at 02:26 PM JST - 30th June

some14, so whilst innocent Zimbabweans are murdered, have their homes razed and are tortured, you want to congratulate Mugabe ? I think the reason why we all seem to be ganging up on you is because of your total lack of compassion, whilst living in your own comfortable and safe life. If anyone's comment is to be edited then it would surely be your congratulations to a murderer.

Another corrupt leader in power and the people of the world stand by and watch without any real protest. Proof that the world is falling to pieces and the rich and powerful run the roost. It`s 2008 and money is far more important than people. Very sad. Just take a look around.

  • tclh at 03:53 PM JST - 30th June

The world =UN,and UN's both hands are tied with silk rope by China and iron chain by Russia...it can only offer criticisms to Mugabe...and that's about it!

"China will be happy: another willing despot for them to sell their arms to."

    Already happening.

  • presto345 at 04:17 PM JST - 30th June

Mugabe himself is a ticking time bomb which when it goes off will sink the whole nation.

  • Madverts at 09:27 PM JST - 30th June

"Score one for the anti-war crowd."

Uhm, what or rather who are you talking about?

The only person I have seen support Mugabe on JT is "unscreject", who claims to be from Zimbabwe.

Hear, hear. Except the Japanese government isn't "corrupt", it's corrupt, but angelic in comparison to a host of other "governments" like Mugabe's.
