Republicans should have sent Limbaugh to Guantanamo when they had the chance, instead of letting him stay around and blow up their party.

How is it that the party which supposedly respects life is the party which seems to dance when people they disagree with are seriously ill?
Come on GOP, show the world how much further you can sink.

Look at the left and their false indignation. Maybe Obama and his cult should concentrate on more important things like the economy.
A President attacking a private citizen is so Nixonian, so McCarthistic, so Leninesque.

Come on GOP, show the world how much further you can sink" Which is why the comment should have been ignored. And, as VOR points out, he is a private citizen and even though I don't like what he says, I will respect his freedom to say what he feels like and you should too..
I hope the dems don't cave into this and start trying to ban speech like Gore tried with Hip Hop labels.

Well VOR, aside from the fact that Nixon and McCarthy were Republicans and Lenin not even American, Obama did not attack anyone. Nice try.
No one said he did not have the freedom to speak, only that it is low, very low to speak of someone's death. So spare me the false piety.
Conversely, would you argue that the president cannot speak well of someone? Last time I heard the president is still an American citizen and also has the freedom to speak. As do all Americans Dems, Repubs, and on down the line. Limbaugh speaks to provoke, that is his right, those offended also have the right to call him on it.

Obama and his staff have, like the little totalitarians they are, gone after Santelli, Cramer and of course Limbaugh. But Palin was the most dramatic example.
They can't help themselves. It's in the Alinsky playbook that is Obama's bible. Alinsky's own son even called out Obama on this last year, asking him why he uses his Alinsky's tactics without acknowledging him or his influence.
From Alinsky - "Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counterattack ridicule. Also, it infuriates the opposition, who then react to your advantage."
"Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

b4b: You are correct, but I still think its better if they avoid the confrontation as well as I don't think the president should have a right to down play a citizen's remarks, irregardless of their contents provided that they are not dangerous.
If you allow this, you must accept the same when the other sides starts commenting on Robert Ayers (who has spoken very provocative words). If Obama comes down on this overweight white druggie, he'll be opening a can of worms.

"But Palin was the most dramatic example."
Who?
Heh, I like Limbaugh - he really shows the true despicable nature of the shrieky right....and those the crawl out to defend him.

Wow you managed to link two famous Republicans with a Communist stalwart. Good Job.

Limbaugh needs to become the predominant voice of the Republican party. That would assure Democrats both passage of important legislation and we could arrive at the 60 votes, next election, we need to conquer the Republicans in the senate.

Quite a leap for the Left - from Bush Derangement Syndrome to Rush Derangement; from obsessing 24/7 about a democratically elected leader appearing on their TV's and in the papers to micturating about a radio talk show host most of them have probably never even heard.

I have just enough time to post before I get up and micturate...where do you get this stuff?
Anyway, no need to tune in to Rush. He is quoted quite nicely in the article. Here is new word for you: reprehensible.
Anyway, twice now that I have heard about Rush this year. Its two times too many.

Rush the druggie take him lightly and enjoy the rush!!!!

"where do you get this stuff?"
Heh, blog city. Kinda funny coming from this one, who hasn't stopped hyper-ventillating since Nov 4th.
Yes rollo, I've heard limbaugh's shriekings, and like I said - he's a perfect shriekesman for the radical right. I have no time for your brothers on the radical left either, but they don't seem to have the same amount of honest to goodness hate in them...

A jealous Chris Mathews reports the Obama admin and the Dems have almost doubled the size of Limbaugh's listening audience, in a matter of days.
Mission Accomplished.

"What is so strange about being honest and saying, 'I want Barack Obama to fail?" - rush limbaugh
Heh, what a patriot. No wonder the boy loves him.

And right on cue, young sarge comes back with another rant about Edward Kennedy on a thread intended for discussion on limbaugh's hateful comments towards an ailing other Kennedy.
Even the Republicans own new party chairman, Michael Steele, called Limbaugh's brand of politics "incendiary" and "ugly."
In light of the wilderness the Republican party finds itself after Bush they should split the party, retain those Republicans that are worth anything and leave the shreiky elements to, well....uh - shriek themselves to obscurity. They could even have rush as chief shriekperson.

"the scumbag Limbaugh"
And Kennedy's a saint.
Some people are clueless.

I could care less about Rush Limbaugh, but the article is way off base.
He claims the Democrats are using Senator Kennedy's illness as a reason to get national health care done now.
Heck....read the transcript not this media bias crap.

This site most ignored Limbaugh over the years....now he seems to be popping up in articles quite a bit. Strategic planning by JT?

Sailwind- And we should trust it because Rush would NEVER be biased in his own favor... You must think us thick.

Some people truly are. Sarge, if Kennedy made such remarks about Limbaugh, we would still object. Many of us here do not base everything we do on WHO people are, such as Repub or Dem. We base our thoughts on principles. An alien concept to you, I am sure.

sailwind you miss the point completely (perhaps willingly), talking openly and publicly about someone's death is extremely rude and low. Surely reasoned objections can be made by Rush and others without being insulting. As likeitis said basic decency is evidence of having principles. Even GW Bush, gaffs and malapropisms aside, did not speak like this.

Amazing. Obama's foreign fans have taken it upon themselves to tune in to el Rushbo? What does his site charge for the podcast?

I wonder if President Obama will chicken out on Limbaugh's offer to fly him to New York and drive him and his entourage to the EIB Building to debate him, all-expenses paid...

Sarge is the type of person that would claim victory for Rush because the egotistical, pompous ass yells over another individual. Rush has no skills; he is simply politically pretentious and pretends that being obnoxious is some kind of a desirable trait. Of course sarge and rollonarte would say their man won just because he yelled louder, ignoring all decorum. I remember when they were so convinced that McCain had won a debate simply because he would obstruct Obama from making a point several times. Then they were dumbfounded by the American people's response and the apparent victory of Obama in every debate.
For some people it is very hard to distinguish the success of an alley fight from a debate of serious consequences. They simply can't understand why others would find a megalomaniac repugnant. Could it be that the boorish find it comfortable to flock together? Believe me most Republicans would find the impudent Limbaugh too uncouth to invite to their dinner party.

I am afraid you give the pair too much credit. You are accusing them of having reasons. In fact, they would say their man won simply because he is their man. Its the reason of having no reason, the natural choice for the far-right.
The far-right do not fool us half as much as we fool ourselves by giving them too much credit in the intelligence department, which is a natural mistake for an intelligent person to make. Its hard for intelligent people to understand and accept just how unintellectual some people are. That being said though, intelligence is not the only nor even the greatest power in the world, so we still must be cautious. Even dumb-luck poses a danger, and the far-right, being industrious, hardy and hard headed buggers, are more likely to get lucky (in sheer volume of getting lucky, with a disproportionate amount of stumblings).

Limbaugh made a career out of offending people. No one should be shocked when Russ opens his mouth, Kennedy probably took it with a grain of salt.

"Kennedy probably took it with a grain of salt"
Kennedy more likely took it with a swig of grain alcohol.

That is okay though, at it does not require "doctor shopping" and fake prescriptions to obtain grain alcohol unlike with oxycodone and hydrocodone.

Since the man is very much alive, I think a better term would have been 'to honor' instead of 'in memory of'.
