Its been pretty clear for quite a while that the DNC was acting against Bernie throughout the campaign. Hence, Bernie is " not shocked, but dissapointed."

14 ( +17 / -3 )

Wasserman Schultz is going under the bus. No great loss. As to the e-mails, they were irrelevant to the primaries. Looney-tune conspiracy theories aside, Hillary won the nomination fair and square and the fact that DNC members preferred a real Democrat to a faux one is only to be expected.

-14 ( +8 / -22 )

You almost have to have some sympathy for American voters. They have to vote one of these candidates into office. Record low voter turnout is my guess due to many thinking a curse on both your homes.

10 ( +15 / -5 )

It seems the DNC had already choosen their candidate irrespective of the public voting. If that is the case then why even have Democrats vote?

4 ( +11 / -7 )

The Russian connection seems rather far fetched. However, the bottom line is that the emails exist and had the DNC acted fairly toward Sanders there would have been nothing to leak.

Everybody who gets involved with Hillary seems to end up compromising their values.

11 ( +16 / -5 )

with her choice of Kaine for VP hilary was taking for granted that bernies people would support her in spite of her choice of VP. And MAYBE many would have. Not anymore.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

They have to vote one of these candidates into office

No they don't. There are other candidates participating in this routine farce. It's mind boggling how everyone religiously perpetuates the notion of democracy when all they have to go on is evil and lesser evil... What in the world is a lesser evil? Is it akin to mild poison? Isn't it all damning in the end?

4 ( +9 / -5 )

The bigger story is Trump and the Russians trading favors. Now we know why Trump stated he won't defend NATO allies if Russia invades. Disturbing and dangerous.

with her choice of Kaine for VP hilary was taking for granted that bernies people would support her in spite of her choice of VP. And MAYBE many would have.

Hillary was doing what candidates did when the biggest divide in American politics was between the right and the left, moving to the middle with a VP that would capture moderate swing voters. But the game has changed from conservative/liberal to the establishment v. the anti-establishment and she still doesn't appear to get it. At least not yet.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

As was expected and as I have always predicted, the DNC is a slow boiling kettle full of corruption and the liberals thought that their party was free of it. Well, as in the words of Rev. Wright-"the chickens are coming home to roost" If I would say, this is a tragedy, I would be lying. I do have a bit of a grin on my face and now seeing that this party is slowly, gently, but surely tearing itself a part....

As I have always said, the Democratic party must be destroyed...you can throw in the GOP as well.

-10 ( +7 / -17 )

Intern involvement with protests is mentioned twice in the leaked emails. DNC communications director Luis Miranda bemoaned photos of an empty anti-Trump protest in Washington, D.C. in one email chain. Miranda said: “Going forward, when our allies screw up and don’t deliver bodies in time, we either send all our interns out there or we stay away from it.. we don’t want to own a bad picture.”

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Sanders, who has endorsed Clinton and will speak on her behalf to the convention on Monday...“I have known Tim Kaine for a number of years… Tim is a very, very smart guy. He is a very nice guy,” Sanders said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

This is really all that matters. With Wasserman-Schultz gone, there may be some outbursts, but peace and kumbaya will prevail.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

The bigger story is Trump and the Russians trading favors.

ha..maybe on Yahoo news.

-5 ( +7 / -12 )

and the liberals thought that their party was free of it.

Not sure where you get this from (certainly not me!), as we're talking politics here. And politics, wherever you go, has its fair share of bribing, corruption, etc.

So yes, the DNC is not perfect, nor are the candidates. But Trump? 10x worse. But hey, that's just my opinion. And I hope the majority come November.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

With Wasserman-Schultz gone, there may be some outbursts, but peace and kumbaya will prevail.

Did Hillary really announce Wasserman Schultz would now serve as a honorary chair on her campaign and even campaign together in Florida ? I could have sworn that was posted as news on her site this afternoon although it not surprisingly appears to have been taken down. Let's see...Steals a primary for Hillary, screws Bernie, has a massive class action suit for rigging the primaries for Hillary, runs a corrupt political party, and gets promoted. She must need for something to stay quiet.

Gotta give it to the Clinton Family - they do take care of their own.

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

I do have a bit of a grin on my face and now seeing that this party is slowly, gently, but surely tearing itself a part....*

Ah, Bass4funk has seen the light. You did men the GOP didn't you?

1 ( +7 / -6 )

Lizz, correct. But judging from all the "progressives" commenting here youd get the impression corruption doesnt matter. The whole race has been rigged in hillarys favor from the start.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

More MSM BS...blah....blah....blah...

Like the whole country doesn't know Hillary and what she is all about.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGLGzRXY5Bw

-5 ( +7 / -12 )

Bernie cant let this go. Theres a limit. its one thing to support the nominee for the sake of party unity, its another to do so after having been defeated unfairly because of rigging and dirty tricks in that nominees favor.

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

Here's what Senator Sanders wrote: "While [Wasserman-Schultz] deserves thanks for her years of service, the party now needs new leadership that will open the doors of the party and welcome in working people and young people.”

Sanders is acting in the interests of calm and unity. Such is not the case with a percentage of anti-Democrat extremists who have taken to writing threats to Senator Elizabeth Warren for her support of Hillary. Those kinds, the Democratic Party does NOT need.

6 ( +11 / -5 )

if bernie actually accepted the obviously corrupt and rigged outcome of the primary process for the sake of "calm and unity" what would that make him except just another grubby politician willing to accept the people being screwed over for the sake of expediency?

-3 ( +6 / -9 )

Sanders is in an unenviable position of not wanting to be blamed for a Trump victory in the the fall. Although his supporters are pretty much an entity into themselves at this point whether he stays with Hillary and the Democratic Party or not. And of course more email releases are like the Sword of Damocles hanging over this convention.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

The Democratic campaign putting the knife into Sanders! What a bunch of decent folk.....not!

0 ( +6 / -6 )

Such a tangled web they weave.

The DNC is full of propaganda consisting of lies and twisted truths. When questioned they deny, deny, deny! I will vote the ABC method. Anybody But Clinton! I can't vote libertarian (my registered party) because the progressives will vote Hillary and I need to vote Trump. And....Trump is not nearly as bad as the progressives make him out to be as we see how they treated Bernie.

I feel sorry for Bernie. I am polar opposite politically to his socialist platform he is an honerable man in my opinion.

D.W. Schultz......she always was a mis alligned self centered person. No sympathy for her.

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

I have to think this isn't a big a controversy as it's made out to be here. I suppose the Sanders' worshippers are upset. Who cares? Bernie will fade back to Vermont oblivion after Clinton is elected.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

Not a chance Paul. She will not be in office again.

As for Bernie, it was an indicator early on USA wants change, hence Bernies popularity. He himself may fade someone will pick up the torch.

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Record low voter turnout is my guess due to many thinking a curse on both your homes

Don't count on low turnout this November. Many Trump supporters will show up at the polls, and a fair number of Bernie supporters are going to fall in on Trump's side. Unless Trump puts his foot in his mouth so deeply that he disappears (a la Joe Biden), or Hillary suddenly becomes likable a much greater number of voters, we are going to have a president with orange hair.

if bernie actually accepted the obviously corrupt and rigged outcome of the primary process for the sake of "calm and unity" what would that make him except just another grubby politician willing to accept the people being screwed over for the sake of expediency?

It would, because he is just another grubby politician who has been in political office his entire professional life. He plays the game as it is dictated by the powers-that-be, whose interest he has served his entire life. That anyone thought that a career politician who has never worn a working-man's shoes would somehow put a working man's interest ahead of his party's is laughable. The DNC holds the strings to every member of it's party, Bernie included. Had Bernie been a true outsider, in other words, someone like Trump, he would have done much better. The left needs it's own outsider to run, someone who isn't a party slave.

Bernie cant let this go. Theres a limit. its one thing to support the nominee for the sake of party unity, its another to do so after having been defeated unfairly because of rigging and dirty tricks in that nominees favor.

He has already let it go, because of the reasons I just mentioned. And for the last year, the RNC has been doing it's all-out best to rig or play dirty tricks to keep Trump from being it's nominee. They threw their money and influence behind Bush III, and when Bush imploded, Cruz got the money and influence. But republicans are so fed up with their party that forced the party to take an outsider as it's candidate. Bernie is not an outsider, he has been a player in the democrat party since 1968, he is too much part of the system to be seen as being truly capable of defying or changing it.

-2 ( +9 / -11 )

Ah, Bass4funk has seen the light. You did men the GOP didn't you?

No, I meant the DNC. You guys always bragged about the Democrats are all a unified group, well...so much for that.

-4 ( +7 / -11 )

sangetsu, I agree on all counts. its a very depressing situation.

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

Democrats in disarray

Another email scandal?? It figures. Down with HRC. No "free" stuff. Go Trump!!

-3 ( +8 / -11 )

That anyone thought that a career politician who has never worn a working-man's shoes would somehow put a working man's interest ahead of his party's is laughable.

Yeah, because when I think Trump, I think of a person who wore the shoes of a working man all his life. Your blind spot for Trump is what's laughable. Trump is not a "true outsider," he's simply been on the other side of the corrupt politician / corrupt business partnership.

Meanwhile, Sanders spent his entire political career fighting for the people and against corruption. Politicians like him are rare, but they do exist. Some even exist on the Republican side, but they get even less love from their own party than the Democratic ones.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

@WC No "free" stuff.

Does that include those unnecessary military members (is it really true there are 50,000 US military personnel in Japan?), military contractors, farmers who get paid NOT to grow crops, etc. etc. etc.?

It's apparent right wing reactionaries have memorized the memes FOXentertainment, tru news, infowars, Breitbart, Drudge and all the other MSM and alt right media have taught them. You read them on JT daily. They've learned such heady phrases as 'terrorists hate freedom', 'taxes are bad', 'no free stuff', 'tools of the MSM', 'global elitists', 'email', 'Benghazi', among others, but when pressed usually can offer nothing beyond whatabouthillaryobama.

Would you care to elaborate?

0 ( +6 / -6 )

MrBum, if thats the case Bernie cant just allow this to go along biz as usual. Im hoping he puts his money where his mouth is. His reputation is truly on the line. Put aside the tunnel vision progressives and their shifting sense of ethics, this dirty fiasco has to be addressed from a moral standpoint.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

The Russian connection seems rather far fetched.

Shrapnel, I'm no fan of conspiracy theories, but dots are beginning to add up at an alarming rate. Trump has a clear affection for strongmen such as Kim Jong Un, Saddam Hussein and Vladimir Putin. Since his numerous bankruptcies, most Western banks have blacklisted him - but he still is able to raise funds from Russian oligarchs. http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/cover_story/2016/07/vladimir_putin_has_a_plan_for_destroying_the_west_and_it_looks_a_lot_like.html Paul Manafort, his campaign manager, worked for the former Ukrainian president - the one overthrown in the Orange Revolution that Russia has ever since tried to turn back. And during the drafting of the most recent GOP platform, the only effort Trump made to affect policy was to nix the GOP's long-standing hope to supply Ukraine with lethal arms (not that that's a bad thing - Obama feels the same - but interesting that the only effort the Trump team made was to change a policy that would directly benefit Russia). Trump also is far less than enthusiastic for such American alliances as NATO, and stated the other day that NATO should heavily qualify guarantees for Baltic state members - all former Soviet satellite states. And now we have the DNC hacking, which was acknowledged four months ago (also interesting is that if Russia had hacked Hillary's email, a similar leak would likely have occurred; the fact that it has not indicates that they did not).

I'm not saying that Trump is directly in cahoots with Putin; I am saying that Putin and his version of Russia would heavily benefit from a Trump presidency.

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

Outrider,

Sanders made a promise to support the winner of the primaries if he lost. That was his part of the bargain to run as a Democrat, as opposed to as an Independent where his message would have gotten zero exposure. I respect that he's a man of his word, and it's a large part of what attracted people to him.

Now these email leaks prove what the Sanders camp has always suspected about the DNC. They didn't fulfill their duty to remain neutral, and essentially broke their part of the promise. I think this gives Sanders some leeway to go independent or join the Green Party, but he may chose to follow through on his word, simply to stop Trump.

I can understand his reasoning for maintaining unity. Trump would be a disaster worse than Clinton and should be stopped at all costs. Changing the system was always more important to Sanders than the presidency, and he's already got some of his policies on the Democratic platform. He can also continue to work for further change from within the party.

I'd love for him to go Green, but I respect him regardless of his decision. He's already done more to bring progressive, system-changing ideas to the forefront than anyone in recent memory. That said, I might vote Green if the situation miraculously changes and that wouldn't result in a wasted vote.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

In a statement, DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said the best way for the party to accomplish its goal of putting Clinton in the White House was for her to step aside after the convention.

Immediately would be preferable.

“What’s disturbing to us is that experts are telling us that Russian state actors broke into the DNC, stole these emails and other experts are now saying that Russians are releasing these emails for the purpose of helping Donald Trump,” Clinton campaign chairman

Ah, the irony of the Clinton campaign whining that a foreign power is using email against her gained from hacking an insufficiently secured email account...

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Lot of dirty laundry tumbling out of the democrat party political machine. Lets see how the media tries to whitewash all that.

I

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Ah, the irony of the Clinton campaign whining that a foreign power is using email against her gained from hacking an insufficiently secured email account...

There is no irony in your statement. There is no evidence of the emails having been 'insufficiently secured'. There is no evidence that Clinton was involved in this. There is, however, compelling evidence that the Trump campaign has been compromised, knowingly or unknowingly by the Russian government and its intelligence services. I find it bizarre that you and other apologists here are not outraged by this revelation. The only irony is in the shrill Republican screech of disunity.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

funkymofo:

" There is no irony in your statement. There is no evidence of the emails having been 'insufficiently secured'. There is no evidence that Clinton was involved in this. There is, however, compelling evidence that the Trump campaign has been compromised "

LOL are you serious? Classified documents on unsecured servers in the bathroom is not an issue, however some alleged email insecurity by a rival political party is?

Mixed messages anyone? I

-2 ( +5 / -7 )

Yeah, because when I think Trump, I think of a person who wore the shoes of a working man all his life. Your blind spot for Trump is what's laughable. Trump is not a "true outsider," he's simply been on the other side of the corrupt politician / corrupt business partnership.

Well, he works, he didn't build an empire by sitting on his rear, even if he did get a loan from his father and paid it back.

Meanwhile, Sanders spent his entire political career fighting for the people and against corruption. Politicians like him are rare, but they do exist. Some even exist on the Republican side, but they get even less love from their own party than the Democratic ones.

Sanders is an all out socialist, No one was going to make him president, even the Democratic Party thinks he's a joke. And even if Bernie would have made it to the presidency, there is No way congress would have allowed him to further put the country in debt. We are already in the hole for $10 trillion deficit and Samders promising free this and free that is totally misleading the people, even if his intentions are from the heartfelt and noble.

It's apparent right wing reactionaries have memorized the memes FOXentertainment, tru news, infowars, Breitbart, Drudge and all the other MSM and alt right media have taught them. So now liberals are trying to blame conservatives for their problems? 65 million people will vote for Trump and you guys want to insult, denigrate these voters as incompetent? It goes both ways. I worked for more than 12 years for msnbc as a conservative, I had a very difficult time working in an environment that was severely hostile to conservatives, we always had to tow the liberal line, it was there I truly realized liberals don't care or respect other opposing points of view. The people are tired of out of control taxes, entitlements and excuses from an administration that just doesn't care. With 6 months to go and a lame duck president that is more concerned about his house in Hawaii, than The people know and see how the system is rigged, Trump has proven that as Sanders as well and now with the DNC Wikileaks fallout and the corruption within the DNC (that they were so desperately trying to hide from the public) add to that Hillary's plummeting unpopularity and a bad choice for a VB, Sanders voters refusing to endorse Hillary, it seems the next 4 days should turn out to be a lot of fun. My buttered popcorn is ready!

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

This is democracy at work? Two corrupt politicians vying to be the leader of America? And you ask that the world accepts American values and leadership? America is a empire in rapid decline and your version of "democracy" is now a joke in the developed world. Who now looks to America for leadership? A corrupt political system run by the 1.00%. A system that aims to keep the status quo - the rich getting richer. Politicians that call on the most basic and primitive reasons to vote for them. Division and hate is now the GOP a rallying cry. For the Clinton campaign it is business as usual - with business being top of the agenda. Politics in America is now so sick that candidates will do anything, anything! to gain power. It is no longer a desire to serve the people but to serve myself and my masters, If there ever was a valid argument against democracy these two sleaze bags standing as president hopefuls justify it,

2 ( +4 / -2 )

MrBum, I see your reasoning, but Bernies gotta make a stand here. The Republican Party hardly wanted trump to be successful but they didn't pull this kind of corrupt s---.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

There is no irony in your statement.

My, my you're all riled up. No, not in my statement, in the situation. You know, the whole controversy about Clinton as SecState sends and receiving email on a private server... and that becoming a risk a foreign power could have leverage... and now a foreign power... Anyway, it's okay if you don't get it.

There is no evidence of the emails having been 'insufficiently secured'.

The Clinton camp questioned whether Russians may have had a hand in the hack attack on the party’s emails

Party's email hacked. So, yes. insufficiently secured. By definition.

There is no evidence that Clinton was involved in this.

What the "this" you're talking about?

There is, however, compelling evidence that the Trump campaign has been compromised, knowingly or unknowingly by the Russian government and its intelligence services.

That's bad. Really bad. Outrageous! Happy?

I find it bizarre that you and other apologists here are not outraged by this revelation.

Heh heh, how would you know? And just what would I be an apologist of?

The only irony is in the shrill Republican screech of disunity.

Not sure that's irony. Hmmm... are you under the impression I'm a Republican?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

SimondB:

" This is democracy at work? Two corrupt politicians vying to be the leader of America? "

One corrupt polician and one outsider, who is actually a real alternative for a change.

Sorry but attempt to smear the guy with the usual labels does not work. Just look at how he was opposed by the political establishment of his own party and by the establishment media (including the much lambasted Fox network).

This is the most interesting US election in a long time. They had actually two political outsiders this time; now only one is left.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

bass: Sanders is an all out socialist, No one was going to make him president, even the Democratic Party thinks he's a joke. And even if Bernie would have made it to the presidency, there is No way congress would have allowed him to further put the country in debt. We are already in the hole for $10 trillion deficit and Samders promising free this and free that is totally misleading the people, even if his intentions are from the heartfelt and noble.

Yeah, well what about Trump? And Republicans? I mean I'm not changing the topic I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy in - just kidding. I wouldn't dodge your point like that.

The way you talk about Sanders shows you really didn't listen to much of what he said and mostly operate from some right-wing script. The first thing out of your mouth is "socialist," then you pick a couple of policy proposals that are too expensive, then you throw him a token compliment and call it a day. Repeat.

Whatever bubble you live in obviously stripped away his comments about income inequality, money in politics, education, and a host of other issues. When he asks why wages have been flat for decades he's no threat to you, he's not trying to tax or spend money, and it's a question we should be asking.

But the first thing out of your mouth is "Sanders is an all out socialist." Why? Like I said, a vast majority of what he says is absolutely no threat to you at all. Stop slapping some GOP nightmare label on him while you toss him aside.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

@bass4funk

Sanders is an all out socialist, No one was going to make him president, even the Democratic Party thinks he's a joke.

Sanders is honest about being a socialist. Trump is an all out con-artist, he won't be president, and the world (including the Republican Party) thinks he's a joke.

His plan would add to the deficit and put us further in debt without the heartfelt and noble intentions.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/donald-trumps-budget-plan-would-add-10-trillion-in-debt/

65 million people will vote for Trump and you guys want to insult, denigrate these voters as incompetent?

Uhh, yeah. If the shoe fits. Trump literally has nothing going for him but his bombast. I know his VP offer to Kasich is a case one side's word against the other, but one side's been shown to lie time and again. The offer all but proves what many have suspected. He just wants the title of president and has no concrete plans or desire for doing the actual job.

Wake up. Vote Libertarian if you really want a non-liberal outsider.

@SimondB

I agree with a lot of what you said, but how is it an argument against democracy? Voters becoming informed and taking part in the democracy is the only way to save this system that's become corrupted.

@Outrider

Well, I kind of agree with you... We'll see what he says at the convention.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Bernie isn't really a socialist and certainly not an "all out" socialist.

Any "all out socialist" would believe in state ownership of factories, banks, land... He doesn't

http://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2016/03/bernie-sanders-democratic-socialism/471630/

As someone who grew up under socialism and is still, barely, in his 30s, I hope to relate a few ideas to the young people who are “feeling the Bern.” First, Sanders is not a socialist, but a social democrat. Second, the United States does not have a strictly capitalist economy, but a mixed one. As such, it combines a high level of private ownership of capital and the means of production with relatively onerous regulation and taxation. Third, to the extent that what anti-capitalist Sanders supporters really want is a Scandinavian-style social democracy, with its high level of wealth redistribution and income equality, they should consider that even some of the most socially democratic countries on earth are, in one crucial way, more capitalist than the United States.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

And Hillary has hired dws to be a part of her campaign team. Nothing to see here. Move along ignorant sheeple .

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

Liberals have been yammering on and on about how Mr. Trump is a bigot.

No, it was more than just that...

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/cover_story/2016/07/donald_trump_is_unfit_to_be_president_here_are_141_reasons_why.html

I would say two is a good start for you, but 1) rigging elections and misleading/suppressing voters are the only ways Republicans win; 2) they suspected he was an atheist and wanted to use that against him, not his Jewish heritage (still completely wrong, but a misreading of a simple fact on your part).

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Trump says he wants to secure the borders, stop globalist excess, end stupid military interventions abroad, and make peace with Russia. If he is able to do all that I do not know, but if I was American I would vote for him based on that.

Clinton is a "known". If you want more Libyas, more Bengazis, more support for "democratir rebels" aka ISIS, more TPPs, more saber-rattling against Russia, more military industrial complex, go ahead and vote for her. In that case, yes, you will get all that ... that is something you can rely on.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Bigotry, corruption, undermining of the democratic process - all the stuff the dems like to rail against in others. But this time they're falling over themselves to downplay it and make excuses. It's called hypocrisy.

LizzJUL. 25, 2016 - 10:52AM JST Sanders is in an unenviable position of not wanting to be blamed for a Trump victory in the the fall. Although his supporters are pretty much an entity into themselves at this point whether he stays with Hillary and the Democratic Party or not. And of course more email releases are like the Sword of Damocles hanging over this convention.

Probably the best analysis so far in this thread. It's odd you're getting so many downvotes for it.

I'm a Bernie supporter, folks. I want Bernie to win. But this is an election, not a sports event. It's more important to get a government that works than to get a win for the team I cheerlead for. Because despite American news pretending that elections are a constant presence, after the votes are counted we all (well, most of us) kinda have lives to live. I still haven't seen evidence of meaningful corruption. Don't get me wrong, none of what we see in these emails is good. But to suggest on any level they're comparable to kicking people out of the country for having the wrong religion, that's lunacy.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

What liberals fail to see is that they themselves are in a bind, they party chairman is out, they have a VP that is highly unpopular with their base, there is the possibility of turmoil within the party and that protesters might usurp the place. They lack on policies, they have nothing on Trump except for his university scam which will lead to nothing more than a fine and with Hillary's dreadful untrustworthy poll numbers as low as they are at 63%, add to that her unlikability over 70%, the only thing she has going for her and supporting her is her base.

Pandemonium on the Dems side is finally setting in. Popcorn buttered and ready to rock and roll!

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

I still haven't seen evidence of meaningful corruption.

Have you seen Clinton Cash ? The film, which even MSNBC says is ‘devastating’ and ‘powerfully connects the dots,’ reveals how the Clintons went from being ‘dead broke’ after leaving the White House, to amassing a net worth of over $150 million, with $2 billion in donations to their foundation. This wealth was accumulated during her tenure as Sec. of State, through lucrative speaking fees and contracts paid for by foreign companies and Clinton Foundation donors.”

http://dailycaller.com/2016/07/24/leaked-dnc-documents-show-plans-to-reward-big-donors-with-federal-appointments/#ixzz4FOC85BU7

As far as the Wikileaks emails, they do apparently include spreadsheets and emails that appear to show party officials planning which donors and prominent fundraisers to provide with appointments to federal boards and commissions. The documents, which were circulated among top DNC officials in April, could raise legal questions for the party, says Ken Boehm, the chairman of the National Legal and Policy Center, a government watchdog group.

“The disclosed DNC emails sure look like the potential Clinton Administration has intertwined the appointments to federal government boards and commissions with the politica l and fund raising operations of the Democratic Party,”...which is unethical, if not illegal.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Bigotry, corruption, undermining of the democratic process - all the stuff the dems like to rail against in others.

How are Democrats bigots? Again, it wasn't his Jewish heritage they were going to use against him, it's his suspected atheism. Even then, I'm sure the party couldn't care less, but they know America hasn't elected a non-Christian president since Lincoln. I admit there's corruption and undermining of the democratic process though. Neo-Libs have simply learned too well from the Republican playbook.

But this time they're falling over themselves to downplay it and make excuses. It's called hypocrisy.

No, it's an acknowledgment that the alternative is worse on all counts and being stuck with a two-party system. We criticize it within our own party as well. Again, I'm interested in what happens at the convention, but for now the Democrats still have people on the inside with integrity like Sanders and Warren who think the party can still be salvaged. Where are those people on the Republican side?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Though it won't happen, AG Lynch should order an investigation of the DNC for being a racist based hate group. It's painfully apparent from the emails released by WikiLeaks that the DNC has engaged in willful and unlawful bias and outright hate speech based on released statemtents DNC officials made against people who are of a race other than white. The DNC hierarchy must be held accountable for this disturbing and persistent trait of racism. . .

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

MrBum, come now, blaming Republicans??

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Dont nominate Hilary, shes a very hateful lady....

The film "Hillary's America" which shows how the Clintons got rich off the backs of the poor re-creates what the director, Dinesh D'Souza, said he learned in federal “public housing.” He established a rapport with some of the thugs and con artists there and asked them how the gangs to which they belonged consolidated power. A fellow inmate named Rock told him that the con games the gangs practice involve promising people something for nothing, then cheating them while at the same time making them dependent on the gangs for protection. This eerily resembled the way the Democratic machines operated, D’Souza realized.

On a televised interview with Clinton she is now playing the victim card. She has as much honor as a convicted felon.

Last week it was entertaining to see the low informed with the MSM talking points claiming the RNC was in disarray. The reality was quite different. Today starts the DNC convention and it starts in chaos and scandal. The progressives must be proud they continue to to decend into new levels almost daily.

I hope Bernie has enough courage to speak his truth today. If not, the Obama meeting must have persuaded his ideology overnight.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Come on Bernie - do the right thing!

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

If he doesn't clearly the whole Democratic Party will show publicly one facet of the scam that party harbors.

Say it right Bernie! Truth and honesty. You claim your son outsider, prove it please.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Lizz: The film "Hillary's America"

Again, you were pretty far off on your prediction of the FBI investigation. Can we get some accurate predictions before we start watching a bunch of Internet movies? I want to make sure you aren't being duped again before I start looking at your material.

Last week it was entertaining to see the low informed with the MSM talking points claiming the RNC was in disarray. The reality was quite different.

Stuff like this scares me. I know that false equivalency is a cornerstone of conservative debate, but there are times when you appear to genuinely believe things you are saying, which obviously can't be possible. There is no bubble tight enough to watch a Ted Cruz speech then emerge saying there's no division. I'm not sure what to make of you.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

AG Lynch should order an investigation of the DNC for being a racist based hate group.

It is clear that the GOP lynch mob is undergoing withdrawal symptoms now that their Trumpocalypse-convention in Thunderdome has ended.

First of all, what the former DLC head and her staff did was unethical -- but did not break any laws. If I am wrong, please cite the laws that were broken. So, this Bernie Sanders supporter says "shame on her" -- but it doesn't go farther than that. There's not one shred of evidence that their actions influenced the outcome of any primary. The Democratic Party clearly preferred Hillary.

Second, Bernie Sanders is NOT a Democrat, although he decided to run as one. By and large, the Democratic Party apparatus welcomed him, but anyone with a brain has to know that Democratic Party officials are naturally going to favor a long-time Democrat over an outsider.

Allow me to provide an example of another minion who was willing to go far beyond ethical violations and actually break laws -- engaging in actions that took human lives -- and was forgiven by his GOP masters. (Anyone recall Ollie North? The man who would obey orders while betraying the Constitution he swore to defend?)

Generally speaking, conventions are messy affairs -- especially when they've been as hotly contested as this year's have been. However, I predict that the Democratic convention is quickly going to be seen as a unified, forward-looking, positive force. Leave it to the Republicans keep talking down the country and the American people -- as least those who aren't white -- and setting the bad example.

statements DNC officials made against people who are of a race other than white.

Bernie Sanders and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz are of the same "ethnic" group. I believe some of the remarks had to do with speculation that democratic socialist Sanders flirted with atheism. The email flap is a tempest in a teapot, and will quickly be smoothed over now that Wasserman-Schultz is no longer DNC leader.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Wipeout, that's not necessarily true in practice. Time magazine etc have been known to refer to presidents two years into their second terms as lame ducks.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

It's apparent right wing reactionaries have memorized the memes FOX entertainment

How many times do I have to say that I've never voted republican in my life, but still your dysfunctional minds will never process it.

You want to make this about Reps vs Dems, but it's not. It's the people against the Wall Street bankster scum, of which Hillary is their chosen one. Throw all the childish stones you want, but you're on the idiot side of history.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

@MarkG and outrider,

Don't expect Bernie to change his opinion. He's either been bribed or threatened to stay the course.

It's his followers that needs to be watched. This election cycle is not a politics as usual one this time around. Sanders spearheaded a movement. Although he sold out for whatever the reason, what he set in motion is bigger than him. His followers view Mrs. Clinton as a lump of dough that's rolled around and molded into whatever fits the DNC narrative du jour. they know she is a fraud.

Last week, liberals were making fun of the RNC convention; many were hoping for riots in Cleveland to solidify their opinion that the republicans were in disarray. But that did not happen.

Given the WikiLeaks revelations about the sneaky way the democrats rigged this election in favor of Mrs. Clinton, I expect Philidelphia will not be the City of Brotherly Love this week. The chaos has already begun for them. Their chairperson will not even be in the building to gavel the start and finish of the convention.

For nearly eight years, the democrats have veered too far left for even its voters to stomach. DNC leadership is more concerned with air conditioners pose a bigger threat To people than Islamic extremists and bathrooms than listening to their constituents.

In a few hours, the DNC will have just four days to make Mrs. Clinton likable to Americans, especially those living in rural America; people whom they have abandoned in favor of special interest groups and monied elitists. I say good luck with that. . . .

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Again, you were pretty far off on your prediction of the FBI investigation. Can we get some accurate predictions before we start watching a bunch of Internet movies? I want to make sure you aren't being duped again before I start looking at your material.

Can we leave the personal out of this ? It is actually committed Sanders backers flocking to and passionately pushing these films, especially online viewing of Clinton Cash. Amazing and disgusting that she is allowed to run for president. And I think he only scratches the surface of the corruption.

Last week it was entertaining to see the low informed with the MSM talking points claiming the RNC was in disarray. The reality was quite different.

Yes, disarray was a bit too mild. The first convention in living memory that was purposefully boycotted by dozens of leading Republicans. An active "DumpTrump" movement, with at least two state delegations LEAVING the arena. A candidate who smeared the wife of one of his leading contenders, and accused that candidate's father of complicity in the assassination of a president. A plagiarized speech by the nominee's current wife.

And that was barely into Day Two.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Tex, excellent observations. This whole sorry primary mess has been quite a revelation regarding the Democratic Party and even more surprisingly, the lengths its supporters will go to to justify or explain away corruption and bigotry.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

How are Democrats bigots? Again, it wasn't his Jewish heritage they were going to use against him, it's his suspected atheism. Even then, I'm sure the party couldn't care less, but they know America hasn't elected a non-Christian president since Lincoln. I admit there's corruption and undermining of the democratic process though. Neo-Libs have simply learned too well from the Republican playbook

How are Dems racists? Is that a rhetorical question. For the last 8 years race relations have worsened under Obama and under this entire admin. There is not one honest stat out there that can say, race relations are in perfect harmony with one another. Also, sorry, the fear mongering and rant that the GOP are "phobic"....something was blown out the water when Trump promised equal rights and protections for the LGBT community. That game isn't going to work, like the race card, the gender card. Libs are running out of ideas and running out of attacks and a new CNN poll just came out, Trump is slightly leading over Hillary. Ouch!

but for now the Democrats still have people on the inside with integrity like Sanders and Warren who think the party can still be salvaged. Where are those people on the Republican side?

Integrity left the Democratic Party a very long time ago.....

A lame duck president is one whose successor has already been elected. That applies to about 2 months at the end of the presidency. It doesn't mean some arbitrary period selected by mouth-foamers who think they can pronounce a president no longer legitimate.

When I use Lame Duck, I mean-"Lame Duck" quite literally! But yes, I know what the term means. Lol That's the best I can say on JT. But thankfully, January will be here soon.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Indeed, outrider. Most interesting. For example:

For nearly eight years, the democrats have veered too far left for even its voters to stomach.

This implies that "the Democrats" does not equal "its voters" - so whatever veered too far left must have been something unable to vote, presumably "the establishment" - yet at the same time, this "establishment" is alleged to have rigged the system to nominate a candidate more centrist than Sanders: Clinton, who known to be an Obama clone, a continuation of the past eight years of policy and manner - meaning that the rabid left-wing policies of the past eight years were rejected by Sanders voters as too far left, and that Clinton is a socialist and Sanders a centrist and white, black, up, down etc. are open to interpretation.

Great analysis, Tex. No wonder California continues to dominate our economic rivalry.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

@Lizz

Regarding your post about "Hillary's America" by Dinesh D'Souza.

Is that the same D'Souza whose hatred of Clinron led him to tweet a false photoshopped image of Hillary Clinton with a confederate flag?

Is that the same D'Souza who is a convicted felon?

When did he he get out of jail to bring his balanced and non-partisan mindset to filmmaking?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

plagiarized speech by the nominee's current wife.

Where you ok when Obama plagerized his speech? But being fair as you are, I know you found it equally as abhorrent.

Is that the same D'Souza whose hatred of Clinron led him to tweet a false photoshopped image of Hillary Clinton with a confederate flag?

You do know, one of his idols was Michael Moore (when it comes to filming style and cinema photography)

Is that the same D'Souza who is a convicted felon? When did he he get out of jail to bring his balanced and non-partisan mindset to filmmaking?

And that was exonerated and has one of the highest rated documentary? Yup, that one! I think liberals are teed off because, he hits home with the lies liberals try to hide and also the timing of it is coming out now and the Hillary camp is beyond angry and good on D'Souza.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

"Is that the same D'Souza whose hatred of Clinron led him to tweet a false photoshopped image of Hillary Clinton with a confederate flag?"

"You do know, one of his idols was Michael Moore (when it comes to filming style and cinema photography)"

What in the name of quite literally whooping boneheads at a Trump rally has that got to do with his tweet?

So, you're glad a convicted felon like D'Souza is here to tell the truth about the Libs?

Honk! Quack ( from a quite literal lame duck)! ROFL!

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Hey democrats, I know you're upset you didn't get the violence you wanted at the RNC.

But give it just a day. I predict great things happening in Philly. Forget BLM. They are the JV team when you have got spurned Bernatistas. Look for a whole lotta rioting, burning, looting and arrests.

The DNC clown show/lemmingpalooza will kick off in just a few hours. . .

-1 ( +4 / -5 )

See? Even African-Americans long for the good ol' days, those that Trump promise to bring back! (Do they teach "statistics" and "logic" at Texas colleges? Just curious.)

Protecting their EBT benefits is hardly freedom. You re totally a racist, why, cuz you think of minorities as lass than you

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Texas A&M AggieJUL. 25, 2016 - 09:41PM JST, writes:

Look for a whole lotta rioting, burning, looting and arrests.

OK, Texas-Aggie. I'm going to quote you on that. Here we are on morning of Day One. As JapanToday provides daily updates on the convention, I'll bring that quote back up with a comment.

Note: From Day One of the Iraq War, I started posting "Day nn, and still no weapons of mass destruction." I have a feeling your prediction is going to turn out to be as reliable.

How deflated will the right-wingers feel when real unity forms among the liberals and left-wingers? Oh, and our "JV team" too!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

What in the name of quite literally whooping boneheads at a Trump rally has that got to do with his tweet?

Everything that touches on the topics that liberals wince about. LOL

So, you're glad a convicted felon like D'Souza is here to tell the truth about the Libs?

Why, yes sir, I sure am. If you think differently, so be it, but if it can put a boulder in Hillary's shoe, all the better. As you already know....

the Democratic Party needs to be destroyed.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

https://twitter.com/NateSilver538/status/757558402667188224

TRUMP now leads in 538's now-cast, our estimate of what would happen in an election today.

The odds just were updated. Nate Silver just updated his model from a 20% chance of winning last month to probable today. This from the guy that predicted every state correctly in 2012.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Another interesting aftereffect of the RNC convention (aside from the lack of violence despite the predictions of many on this page) was Trump's bounce in the polls - substantial, but negative for those college-educated. CNN reports:

Clinton actually gained ground compared with pre-convention results, going from an even 40% to 40% split to a 44% to 39% edge over Trump (with college-educated voters). That while Trump expanded his lead with white voters who do not hold a college degree from a 51% to 31% lead before the convention to a 62% to 23% lead now.

Texas.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

So what you're trying to say in true liberalism is that, if you don't have a college degree, you are a joke, but if you have a college degee, you have the right to chastise and ridicule people because they're beneath you, those pathetic uneducated mortals!

Once again, you have just shown why so many people love Trump.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Then Clinton promptly hired her "long time friend" Wasserman Shaluz. I don't want to vote for Trump but I also don't want to vote for someone who has to cheat to get elected.

On a side note Julian Assange from Wikileaks said the next emails he releases will be worse for Clinton.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Yeah, I was a little harsh there, Bass, but statistics are what they are - and when conservatives chastise Democrats for being the food stamp party when in fact it is likely that Republican supporters are more likely to benefit from this program, it shouldn't a college degree to note the cognitive dissonance.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Fizzbit:

" You want to make this about Reps vs Dems, but it's not. It's the people against the Wall Street bankster scum, of which Hillary is their chosen one. Throw all the childish stones you want, but you're on the idiot side of history. "

EXACTLY! It is amazing how some political party hacks still want to turn this into "my party" vs "your party" issue, with their party the good one and the other one the oh-so evil.

Sad, really.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

"So what you're trying to say in true liberalism is that, if you don't have a college degree, you are a joke, but if you have a college degee, you have the right to chastise and ridicule people because they're beneath you, those pathetic uneducated mortals!

Come on, Bass. Don't get all PC. It is what it is. It looks like more people of a lower educational level go for Trump.

For crying out loud, the wishy-washy PC crowd getting all flustered and annoyed when people point out facts....

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Come on, Bass. Don't get all PC. It is what it is.

I leave the PC gababble for the liberals.

It looks like more people of a lower educational level go for Trump. For crying out loud, the wishy-washy PC crowd getting all flustered and annoyed when people point out facts....

Nice try, but that kind of condescension is what makes Trump's message resonate with the people. The arrogance from the left is why people can't stand liberals and their myopic view of themselves being super elitists.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

If it can be proven that these emails were made available courtesy of Russia as her team is claiming there is no way Putin won't dump all the info they swiped from Hillary's server, throwing her at the least more fully into chaos and damage control. They will put Clinton on defense in ways she has never been. I would not be surprised if the Clinton Foundation has been likewise hacked.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

"You almost have to have some sympathy for American voters. They have to vote one of these candidates into office. Record low voter turnout is my guess"

Maybe on the Democrat side we'll see record low voter turnout, but Trump has pushed Republican voter turnout to record highs.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Does that include those unnecessary military members (is it really true there are 50,000 US military personnel in Japan?), military contractors, farmers who get paid NOT to grow crops, etc. etc. etc.?

I don't know nothing bout no farmers. 50,000, I guess. The Dept of Defense (miltary, para military & civilian contractors) is the largest employer in the US. Thus being "employed" with a J-O-B- comes with commitment, responsibility, sacrifice and entitlement.

How dare you say we get "free stuff" as am unemployed guy in Ferguson, CHI south side or south central LA. They depend on EBT. Not me, I WORK for an honest living. Go Trump!!

3 ( +4 / -1 )

This just in - in the latest CNN poll, Trump is leading Hillary 44% to 39% with Gary Johnson grabbing 9% and Jill Stein 3%, and 68% of registered voters saying Hillary is not honest and trustworthy, yet the Democrats are stilll going with Hillary, lol.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Serrano, yep! Its farcical. A lot of people have had the veil pulled from their eyes re the Democratic party this time around.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

@Serrano & Outrider. More terror WILL occur before November. American voters are waking up. Crooked Hillary could be MORE true. Especially the embarrassing fact that the the Democratics "rigged the primaries" and screwed Bernie Sanders.

What a slap in the face to democracy and Bernie supporters. Get ur popcorn ready, the DNC is getting underway. But woe!! Keep your finger on the mute button of your flatscreen TV's remote control. Lots of nonsense will be spewed out there in Philadelphia. Pathetic !!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Outrider:

" Serrano, yep! Its farcical. A lot of people have had the veil pulled from their eyes re the Democratic party this time around. "

Looks like it. And the Republican party too for that matter. The Trump movement is a repudiation of the party establishment. Much like the Sanders movement in the Democrat party. But the Democrat establishment muscled their way through it and annointed their establishment candidate. Basically they are showing which organization is more ruthless and determined.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Ayayay. Mentioning Russia in this just makes the Clinton camp look more weak. The fact is that these are real emails and it's evidence of what people already knew. It was blatantly obvious to begin with. It can no longer be officially called a "conspiracy" anymore. Bernie not being shocked makes me even more upset of why he endorsed Clinton. Even Ted Cruz stood up for his principles of not endorsing Trump.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Bernie not being shocked makes me even more upset of why he endorsed Clinton.

Heh, Sanders got P-L-A-Y-E-D for a sucker. Obama knew all along too. The democratic party is a pretty formidable force. But, when they're up against Trump and the reality of global politics, they're just NOT cutting the mustard.

Democrats in disarray on eve of convention to nominate Clinton

See. Even this here article says they're in "DISARRAY." Everyone bust out the popcorn & watch the DNC. . . . . or Comedy Central-

0 ( +2 / -2 )

WC626:

" or Comedy Central "

You could start with the 8-foot tall wall they are building around their convention side to keep out illegal entrants:

http://www.theamericanmirror.com/dnc-erects-four-mile-fence-around-philly-convention-site/

... and here we thought that walls do not work and we should be build bridges rather? I hope somebody asks them about that...

0 ( +2 / -2 )

You could start with the 8-foot tall wall they are building around their convention (per "theamericanmirror.com/dnc-erects-four-mile-fence")

They? I think it's indicative of the typical dishonesty of the right wing.

Contrary to your link, the "DNC" is NOT erecting a barrier. It is the Secret Service. This convention, like the Republican convention, is designated as a National Special Security Event. This has been known for many weeks. Is right-wing "Disinformation Central" just catching wind of it?

http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/Wells-Fargo-Center-Xfinity-Live-to-Be-Inside-Perimeter-Secret-Service-Says-382433501.html#ixzz4BC92mzWY

Funny that there were few complaints from the Republicans about their convention being a gun-free zone.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Trump and Putin's trading favours LOL, just shows that when it come to Russia, big bad Trumps threats won't work. so this is how Trump works when his diplomnatic skills are used . LOL you couldnt write a better script for a novel.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

That's a 4 mile long 8' barrier fece WilliB! Erected to keep everyone out without proper credentials. Yet the improved border security fans here are racists!!! Only a bunch of lying, cheating hypocrites would spew those lies.

Democrats were fought against in the civil war to free slaves from the plantations.

Democrats formed the KKK to build hate "and protect the whites" from blacks.

Democrats formed the modern day plantations in the form of welfare and public housing.

Democrats, the deep supporters such as Schultz are among the lowest forms of life in USA. I'm not referring to the "well, heck yea, I'm a democrat" types. I'd take a welfare family as a neighbor of her kind any day.

Tonight I am looking forward to Bernie laying into the party. I hope he does. His campaign monies came from hundreds of thousands of supporters only to be spent on zero chance of nomination. A fraud of an election process.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Bernie not being shocked makes me even more upset of why he endorsed Clinton.

Sanders had to stay loyal I think on the chance that something would happen to automatically disqualify Clinton. It still may but doesn't look like it will be before a nomination. Probably why he didn't press harder on the emails though the campaign, the FBI was supposed to do that work for him.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

@Lizz... You know as well as all open minded informed US citizen something should have happened to Hillary. The FBI and DOJ were big disappointments.

The Bernie Obama meeting prior to Bernies endorsement paved the endorsement I think. Bernie was and is being used as a demo puppet.

The party should reimburse all donations back to the Bernie donors. To have spent millions of dollars on a fixed primary is criminal!

This week will be entertaining to see what the Dems do to save face.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Contrary to your link, the "DNC" is NOT erecting a barrier. It is the Secret Service. This convention, like the Republican convention, is designated as a National Special Security Event. This has been known for many weeks. Is right-wing "Disinformation Central" just catching wind of it?

We get it, either way, the anger is building as well as the discontent and I have a feeling a lot more is going to happen in the next few days. Finally, Hillary and her lies are starting to catch her up to her.

Funny that there were few complaints from the Republicans about their convention being a gun-free zone.

Yabits, the RNC is over. Let's stay focused, the DNC gavel just ushered in the start. My gosh, it's such a beautiful day. LOL

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

The crook car has arrived, more like the crook train.

Let the illusions begin. If noses grew with lies the DNC would need thousands of plastic surgeons and perform emergency nose jobs for them to exit the stadium.

Hillary you were dirty and still dirty. Go back to your idol Alinski another person full of lies, cheats and stealing.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Another week and more divisiveness and more people on opposite sides of the fence politically attacking each other. This works out well for those in power but does not work out well for the citizenry, as when we are so divided it is nearly impossible to mount any kind of effective movement against the status quo (regardless of whether it is a "left" or "right" leaning idea).

As always I maintain that Americans have a choice between 2 very poor candidates, which is a shame. Additionally I have thought that the fix has been in for a long time (Clinton is pre-ordained to be the next President of the U.S.) but as time continues to march forward I am less sure of this.

The divide in the U.S. is reminiscent of the late 60's, however this time it feels different....feels more bitter, dangerous, and almost to the point where it is not capable of being mended.

In my humble opinion what the U.S. really needs is someone that can bring some sense of unity back to the United States and that requires leadership skills that both of the current candidates lack.

There is a dangerous feeling of discontent among the U.S. populace on both sides of the aisle (as evidenced by the current state of the DNC - what is happening at the convention - and the Trump movement and fragmenting of the Republican party). The U.S. is in dire need of a leader that can turn down the heat so the pot does not boil over.

Finally - it is interesting that this is a Japan based web-site entitled Japan Today and the top 5 stories are on the U.S. presidential election. Makes one wonder who owns/manages this site.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

7 1/2 years of Obama takes credit for the division. The divide is racial and political. We can easily overcome this with a strong and fair president.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

"7 1/2 years of Obama takes credit for the division. The divide is racial and political. We can easily overcome this with a strong and fair president."

A president guilty of what a member of the GOP called "textbook" racism? A president polling at 0% among black people in some states? A president who called Mexicans rapists? A president who has called for a ban on all Muslims?

Who is this strong and fair president you speak of?

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Imagine if the DNC swap Kaine for Warren, Trump would take the WH hands down. As far left sash is, with the Bernie crowd, she would be a rock star, but generally speaking, she's a very bad choice generally speaking taking the party far TOO left.

The drama and the chaos continues.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Vote third party. Seriously, if this election won't wake people up to actually TRY and change the system (by voting third party) then I don't know what will. Nobody seems to like either Clinton or Trump, so why not vote for whom you actually want? This notion that it's throwing your vote away is childish and myopic thinking.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

This is predictable. Since Woodstock, the liberals have stood for CHAOS. If you don't believe me, look up how awful Woodstock REALLY was.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

What's her name again (DNC Chair speaker)?? Debbie Wasserman Shultz. @DNC, They should be chanting (like the RNC) "Lock her up, Lock her up" too. Another crooked democrat.

yabits:

" Contrary to your link, the "DNC" is NOT erecting a barrier. It is the Secret Service. "

LOL! Hiding behind word games now? Have the "no barriers" sloganeers inside these barriers protested against this artificial boundary protection? Are they calling the Secret Service racists for building it? Are the demanding the wall to be torn down and replaced with bridges? Are they, yabits?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

So, the Democrats stone the media if it is not their choice : INFOWARS It's only scary if you're an illegal. I have known a Japanese illegal. She was a visa overstayer.

You never know, it might prevent WW3. Then again, maybe Russia likes Trump to be the US President because they know he'll be absolutely disastrous for the country.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

LOL! Hiding behind word games now?

Words can either be truthful or not truthful. When the lie is pointed out: (The DNC was not responsible for the security perimeter, the Secret Service is), those caught in it cry "word games." After all, the DNC will feature at least two presidents, a vice-president, two First Ladies, and others who require their protection. Reasonable people understand these security precautions in these times.

No such person attended the RNC. Former presidents, VPs, and other high dignitaries stayed away.

Democrats in disarray on eve of convention

And yet, somehow, everything went fine yesterday. Amazing! It must be a miracle!!!

or

it was never true in the first place. Team Dem was never in disarray.

Hmmm. I wonder which one? A miraculous Hail Mary coming together on the verge of complete collapse? Or Team Dem was fine all along.... To paraphrase:

If something appears to have happened that is strikingly inconsistent with all that we thought to be true, there are two contingencies: either that the laws of nature have been suspended (in your favour) or that you’re under a misapprehension. Which is the likeliest?

Team Dems are fractured. The Bernie fans are either not voting at all or not for Hillary.

And Hillary has the nerve to hire devil Debbie for her campaign.

Democrats in disarray on eve of convention

And now approaching day 4, the disarray and chaos has moved just outside the DNC venue. Some peaceful, some violent, some burning Old Glory.

Thank you Democrats. All you had to do was orchestrate an honest & ethical process during the primaries. Benedict Arnold would've been proud of the Democratic Party today.

"bass4funkJUL. 25, 2016 - 08:23AM JST As was expected and as I have always predicted, the DNC is a slow boiling kettle full of corruption and the liberals thought that their party was free of it. Well, as in the words of Rev. Wright-"the chickens are coming home to roost" If I would say, this is a tragedy, I would be lying. I do have a bit of a grin on my face and now seeing that this party is slowly, gently, but surely tearing itself a part....

As I have always said, the Democratic party must be destroyed...you can throw in the GOP as well."

The entire American political system needs a complete reboot! It has grown into a juggernaut of behemoth proportions which supplies you with a candidate of "their" choice. If an outsider manages to get his foot in the door who wants to make a change and hold the government accountable for its actions...well we know how that ends as JFK springs to mind. Probably the greatest American president of modern times. Where have people like this running for president gone? My goodness these two must be the worst two candidates the US has ever had placed in front of it. Neither is fit to lead the nation and I fear it is going to have a detrimental effect on the rest of the world either way. It's the first time, as a non US citizen, that I have been concerned about a US presidential election because its effects are going have world wide implications.

Exactly. Go Trump, ur an outsider who had seen the plummeting moral of middle America. Go Sanders "die hard" supporters. You were CHEATED big time. Begin ur revolution and forever believe in it. The Revolution has been born in Philadelphia. . . . right outside DNC. What a beautiful beginning. So appropriate place too.

Hopefully this election will spell the end to both the GOP and the Democratic parties. Both need to be abolished.
