I don't know about the Democratic slogan, the Republican one will be: "Live free or Diebold."

Yeah. Well, maybe you don't know US politics in general. Historically, it's Obama's party - and the Chicago Machine in particular - that cheats the most at the polls.

(Her brother Craig, head basketball coach at Oregon State University, introduced her -- and I like his description of how Barack plays hoops: Won't back down from a challenge, takes the good shot and is the kind of team player who inspires better play out of his teammates.)

Blogger and possible future Hillary Clinton cyber-skag 'Wonkette' covered the festivities:

"10:30 — Michelle memorized every episode of The Brady Bunch, a popular show among white people...."

It is not the point that Obama himself refers to himself as being black. The point is that our language forces him to do that. And that is a continuing stain from the notion that you're black even if you have only 1/16 black blood and are as white as Michael Jackson.

Sez - you speak for yourself here. We have no idea what you are on about.

No drama Obama is needed to give hope than Bush stained McCain.

    Yabits,

And last night with her address she set a bar that few spouses of presidential nominees could ever hope to match.

I almost feel sorry for Cindy McCain. "Almost" is the operative word!

  • Betzee at 04:18 AM JST - 27th August

she'll soon be the First Lady. Hee Hee

"Bush is certainly not an idiot, he has achieved a lot in his 2 terms"- why is it that all the ex-military morons have the same deluded views?

    Confederate, I have seen Obama's plan: http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/07/20/obama.afghanistan/

Sorry if the idea of US victory in the war on terror saddens you.

    undecidedbout08,

...speak for yourself here. We have no idea...

    ROFL

If you would like to know what I am on about, a sincere question would work better than cognitively-challenged attempts at dismissiveness.

I, for one, would like to know what you, BoldWarVeteran and possibly others are on about when you refer to "race-obsessed liberals". In my opinion, there is nothing particularly "race-obsessed" about liberals. Race obsession in American transcends parties and it is firmly embedded in our language and culture.

Confederate2008 - it saddens ME when anyone holds the blindly patriotic, blinkered views that you have. Accept it - Bush has treated the military like dirt, especially all of the people who've been injured in Iraq and Afghanistan and then been neglected upon their return to the USA. Just like Vietnam, the other war that you lost. Call that "patriotic"? I don't. No wonder, like everyone else, servicemen and women increasingly want a change

Can someone from America help me wiv a question?

Do Americans who vote different always argue so much when there is an election?

Used to be like that in Britain, but people aint so bovvered these days.

Which of the blokes would be likely to be friends with us Brits?

Moderator: Please use correct English in your posts. It's not too difficult to type "with" or "bothered" instead of "wiv" and "bovvered," and it is easier for others to read.

You have to be proud of Michelle. She celebrates her victimhood with the best of them. She knows what is important to ordinary Americans, even if they don't know it themselves.

  • frontandcentre at 12:29 PM JST - 27th August

Alinsky4prez, it's pretty clear that most people DON'T know what is important to them - look how low voter turnout is in presidential elections, and the 8 years of disaster under Bush.

I was not impressed. Politics and hype that all it was.
