High wage costs, and lowest levels of college graduate is a bad mix for a long term GDP growth. I am glad Mr bunga bunga is no longer in charge.

Mr bunga bunga no longer being in charge won't change anything. Did the US economy fix itself after Bush, will it fix itself after Obama?
Reality check those so called "leaders" are nothing more than puppets and got no REAL power. History tells you as much. And that includes some major leaders in world wars, etc.
Same way you think a CEO/President knows what is going on below him. He gets his info from advisors and other underlings.
As they say in History the No.2 or No.3 is the most powerful/driving force. ;)

My youngest brother who has lived in Rome for 20+ years hasn't been paid his salary since August, and that's a common occurrence in Italy.

It won´t make a difference. Italy needs to buyers for 1.8 trillion Euro worth of government bonds, and won´t find them unless Italy pays risk interest on them which it can´t afford. And unlike Greece, Italy can´t bet on Germany to pick up the bill, because it is too big.
End of the line for the Euro.

Doubt it. It would be a pain for nations like Germany to restart their own systems of currency and to many nations are overly dependent on the trade zone. More likley it will change in a number of ways that will be very unpleasant for a lot of people.
