It will be a bomb. No doubt about it.

EgyptAir said on Thursday a flight from Paris to Cairo had disappeared

A flight from Paris? Somehow that has ISIS and terrorism written all over it.

Don't think Daesh have SAMs that can reach 37,000 feet, so sounds more like something or someone on board.

Or perhaps just an accident? Crazier things have happened....

With its ancient archeological sites and Red Sea resorts, Egypt is a popular destination for Western tourists. But the industry was badly hit following the downing of a Russian jet last year, the ongoing Islamist insurgency and a string of bomb attacks in the country.

I think that should read WAS a popular destination. and while it has tons of historical interest, that is spoiled by the awful social and infrastructure issues and the constant hassle one experiences as a tourist from touts and beggars and the general populace.

Could we all just pause for a moment and pray or meditate or think hard or be in state of peace or do as you feel so moved as we think about our fellow human beings on the aircraft and their fate without making sarcastic comments?

All we can do at this point is speculate. So allow me to do so. No distress signal raises the likelihood of bombing, meaning Paris's airport security would have been breached. Now that WOULD be worrying.

meaning Paris's airport security would have been breached

Parisians were screwed over twice last year by radical islam. Its fair to speculate an airport security breech. It was just a matter of time.

You'd think that they've already figured out "whats going on", lest they ban muslims from entering France.

You know, these comments just give Trump and the likes ammunition. true or not I wouldn't write like this.

What a paradox. That is EXACTLY why you should say or write things like that. Its the friggn' truth. Forget all that PC crap . . . . we're talking about innocent lives and our way of life being destroyed.

News is just coming in that the jet was making several sudden swerves before it plunged into the water. I think those people who were very confident a bomb was responsible may possibly be incorrect. More likely it was the work of pilot(s) and/or staff, a hijacking, or something else.

Furthermore, the passenger list of nationalities reads like a rogues' gallery of nations, which is worrying: Egypt, Iraq,Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Chad and Sudan.

The breach ? any number of places in North Africa where opportunity to leave a long delay device. MS804 made a number of flight cycles before leaving CDG.

Jeez . . . throw in Pakistan and Afghan & you'd have the whole circus of "peace loving", "devout" religious people.

More likely it was the work of pilot(s) and/or staff, a hijacking, or something else.

(lol) I often watch "Mayday" Air Crash Investigations on Nat Geo. It was a hijacking, no doubt.

I'm sure he will be more than happy to be proven wrong but Trump and Egyptian officials are saying the exact same thing -- that this looks more like terrorism than not.

Don't know yet but if it is the worst, and not an accident it is all the more towards what I have said for years.

It isn't racism or nationalism to say a bad idea is a bad idea.. Religion is a bad idea.

It belong in our history and not our future if we get one.

Well, according to the aviation specialists, the swerving and 360 degree turn, plus a sudden drop in altitude points to a “sudden catastrophic event”. It was also mentioned, that last year, Charles de Gaulle airport fired 57 employees who had access to planes and were on a terrorist watch list no less. They found Arabic graffiti on several planes, including Allahu Akbar on a fuel tank hatch, so we don’t have to beat around the bush with regard to their back ground. The last time I looked out of the window of a plane at Amsterdam airport, I saw these “Arabic looking” folks throwing baggage onto the conveyer belt and it just crossed my mind, that a bad apple with not so good intentions could easily slip something onto a plane, much like what happened to that Russian plane last year. It’s nearly impossible to screen these people, unless you exclude them all from sensitive jobs, but I am sure a bunch of Gutmenschen will protest this. But if this turns out to be a terror attack originating in France, there will be some serious repercussions, at least I hope so.

Indeed and it is too early to know what did happen, some posters here are just cloning the TRUMP policy => ignorance.

Bombing is likely, and about Paris airport security, just read up on the huge number of muslims working there. That ISIS has some sympathizers there is simply a question of mathematics.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Bombing is likely,

I agree. My first thought with the massive slowdown in airline security the last few weeks in the US was that there must have been intelligence that this was coming.

"You know, these comments just give Trump and the likes ammunition."

You know, these incidents (if it does turn out to be committed by a certain demographic living in France) just give Trump and the likes ammunition.
