Erdogan threatens to send refugees to EU as NATO steps in

Conveniently there is no mention of the Saudi Wahabi and Salafi backing for the rebels in Syria. No mention of the fact that the Saudi and other Sunni states refuse to take Syrian refugees for fear that Sh'ites seeking revenge through terrorism will be among them. And Erdogan in Turkey wishes to build an Islamist dynasty with this crisis as its foundation. Day by day the Wahabi and Salafi bring their divisive interpretation of the Koran closer to the center of Western political life and face no censure or sanction for these actions. Continuing to ignore religious sponsoring of terrorism on a global scale is even more dangerous than the appeasement of Hit*** in the thirties.

Turkey has probably gained the most out of the Syrian crisis. They have used ISIS to their advantage, encouraging it to attack and neutralize the Kurds. And they have also milked the US and EU for support pretending to take on the IS.

The Turks probably learnt this from their good friend Pakistan, who took arms and money pretending to search for Bin-Laden, while they did him next to their military academy.

Turkey has taken in around 1 million refugees. So no, it's not what he has been doing all along.
