Ethiopian Airlines reported that there were 82 passengers and eight crew; the discrepancy could not immediately be explained.

end of this article. further extension is kind of Boeing 737 PR not suited for such a sad incident/accident.

"Cant rule out you are ignorant about aviation laws....."

I'm not sure that all airlines adhere to that. Aren't there lots of companies that are forbidden to come to the countries that do actually have stringent checks on plane servicing?

Let the investigation take it course. It is much too early to be making remarks.

The 737-800 is a very good plane. Maintenance could be a factor, but "scotch tape" is taking it a bit far.

caught fire and crashed into the Mediterranean shortly after takeoff

I wonder if it was a bird strike? There's a youtube video of a passenger jet taking off at Heathrow airport that injests a bird right after the main gear leave the runway. The engine is flaming for the next 10 seconds or so until the crew gets the engine shut-down and they circle around for a single-engine landing.

Another day for the lows in jet engine aviations and for Boeing/Airbus.

Air transport industry unlikely to be hurt by ethiopian air transport operators or jet transport tech woes.

Nope, but nobody knows. And if it was terror, don´t bet on the Lebanese authorities to discover it.

Chances are this one will remain unsolved.

What an absurd comment! They found out who killed former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, didn't they? And they proved it wasn't Syria. Maybe the same people brought down this plane? They've been known to kill everyone on a plane as collateral damage, just to get one target. "By Deception You Shall Make War" and all that....
