So then if the companies can't get together and decide on a fair price is it the EU that is in total control of what the prices should be? Is the EU really a Nazi organization?

It is not a case of being either one of the possibilities you propose or none at all. There are other possibilities. One possibility would be to let the prices be determined by fair market competition rather than by price fixing.

So where does all the wedge go, or rather to whom.......asuming these companies actually pay the fine?
They're clearly shafting everyone so much there's still profit after the fine. Go figure.
