Sarkozy has threatened to walk out of the meeting if the United States and others won’t strike a deal to curb banking bonuses

This could get really interesting if Sarkozy goes through with the threat. Because obviously the US has no intention of doing anything about bonuses. Recession is over, Bernanke said so!

how come there is no pressure on politicians pay, their costs, and their benefits?

that the world cannot repeat the “scandal” of bonuses for executives and traders that triggered banks to take huge risks

    I totally agree.

Sarkozy has threatened to walk out of the meeting...

    Walk then.

welcomed draft climate change legislation by the U.S. Congress

This is a better way to approach it.

Britain’s Gordon Brown said European leaders must be forceful enough to convince Obama to agree to cap bankers’ bonuses, and must also make a bigger effort on an ambitious climate change pact.

After letting the Lockerbe (sp) murder go home, shut up. < :-)

The global non-central/central bankers need to be reminded that they are not gods.

Why is this news mixing up with the climate change scandal? Yes, we need to do to cut city/industrial pollution for our healths but it should not mix up with the global temperature. I don't mind if they intend to politicize pollution but not certainly the temperature change for profit.

Hard to believe that they are finally talking about banks and bankers, after many years of hiding the international-banking secrets from the global public. We owe a lot to Internet.
