Maybe JR can go over there, and advise them on running high-speed trains in the snow - the Tohoku and Joetsu Shinkansen have been doing it for many years...
... and in a tunnel that is only 30 miles long, it should take no more than an hour or so to get a diesel engine in there and tow it back out, 12~15 hours waiting is ridiculous.

They probably couldn't decide how much to charge the customers for the recovery. Eurostar is a rip-off, as is Sea France or P&0. SpeedFerries were great until they went under, now there is only Nofolk line offering a resonable crossing......depsite the extra drive to Dunkerque.

According to the BBC theyre back up and running again now. Looks like theyve performed very badly and are looking at an independant investigation.
