    There are 5 other countries besides the US fighting these fires. Where is our National Guard when we need them.

    Australia, Canada, Greece, Mexico and New Zealand are also sending firefighters and equipment, federal officials said.

    We appreciate it. In my community we have organized a food drive in the form of home-cooked meals as a token of our gratitude for their efforts.

    In large scale disasters, regardless of how capable/incapable a country is, foreigners often send aid. (Hanshin earthquake, Hurricane Katrina, flooding in Europe, etc.) However, I'm all for peace and an end to the war.
