The government then “purchased a tool that allows court-authorized access to the phone,” Comey said.

And if that tool is for sale, anyone can buy it.

I'm willing to go along with just about anything they want....as long as there is oversight. Up to now, they have not shown that they are willing to operate with that kind of oversight. They need to show us that there are checks and balances in place and that those checks don't amount to more than rubber stamps. Then we can start talking again about allowing access or not.

All this is just so much theater. The whole thing. From the start.

Agreed. Bollocks is the term I'd use. A publicity stunt for Apple and bedfellows at the FBI.

The iPhone was found in a vehicle the day after the shooting. Two personal phones were found destroyed so completely the FBI could not recover information from them.

-I highly doubt this statement. You can get the data off these too if you really want to.

Most interesting part is the the FBI is claiming service in regard to the pass codes/encryption of these phones when in fact Apple, Google et al were unlocking the phones for them at the FBI's request until the FBI demanded a software solution to unlock these phones and Apple declined the Federal court order to do so.

A bold statement considering you don't know what condition the two phones were in when recovered.
