I don't know how ISIS is a credible threat to the United States so I don't understand how people can support it being illegal for Americans to even think about joining them or marrying an ISIS militant. Remember, they did not actually join, whatever that entails, nor was she actually accepted, whatever that entails. So what this amounts to is thought policing.

It's usually not the first-gen immigrants who become a problem. First-gen immigrants know first-hand the horror of war and poverty - that's why they fled their 3rd-world country and emigrated to some place better.

It's the succeeding generations that have only known 1st-world problems, never experienced how much better is their current situation yet think it's the end of the world, think they're going back to their roots not considering why their family fled in the first place.

Also - how does anyone under age 18 get onto an international flight without a legal guardian? Guess I'm very naive? 3 of them? Someone at the airline needs to be fired.

As the US (and Canada!) takes in more and more Muslim refugees and immigrants, these cases will become commonplace in the future. These impressionable kids are raised by a creed that is essentially anti-Western, so what do you expect?

Perhaps revised regulations on passport issuance and deportation are in order?
