"What kind of belief system do these people have?"
A screwed-up one. "People" is used very loosely here.
In spite of these attacks, most Iraqis would not go back to the Saddam days when there apparently weren't any suicide bombings.

Sarge, I thought your guys were wrapping up their mission.
What happened???
Sarge - "In spite of these attacks, most Iraqis would not go back to the Saddam days when there apparently weren't any suicide bombings."
Arrgghhh...yeah! Those were the days most Iraqis want to get away from.....yeah, those days when Iraqis had more cleaner water, a more reliable power supply, those days when they were not subjected to a foreign air force dropping hundreds of thousands of tons of bombs on their cities or leaving thousands of depleted unranium shells to be enjoyed by future generations of Iraqis, and when they could walk down the streets without seeing gun-totin' foreigners driving tanks or bashing doors down, tying up their neighbors and abducting people all in the name of 'freedom.'
Yep Sarge, those were bad days all right!

Was this really worth the thousands of American and coalition forces lives, and tens of thousands of serious injuries? And worth the 2+ TRILLION that it cost?
The whole thing will go back to tribal and religious fratricide at the drop of a hat.

All these deaths of innocents , the consequences of Bush and his mates policies of illegal warfare.
Why can't America see the reality of what they have done, like?

"Why can't America see the reality of what they have done, like?"
Because they're in Denial, like our young friend sarge.
I find it somewhat disturbing that despite the horrific deaths of hundreds of thousands since Hussein, these people still believe they have a right to bomb another county to submission and then proceed to tell them how to live.
I was impressed at the recent elections - but any gains will be detracted by the resurgence of the suicide bomber.
And if sarge is asking himself what kind of people commit such attrocities, then once again the total lack of knowledge of the history of the region is apparent.
Can anybody imagine the pure evil needed for a woman to go out and voluntarily blow up other women and children?
Welcome to the middle east.

When is Obama going to surrender and stop this slaughter of innocents. He promised to leave Iraq to prevent these senseless murders! After this latest terrorist attack, can't he finally see that the war is lost? Harry Reid will set him straight on this...

madverts: "like our young friend sarge"
You still believe I'm "young" - heh heh.
"if sarge is asking himself what kind of people commit such atrociies"
I'm not. I know what kind of people are committing these atrocities, and "people" is used very loosely here.
"Welcome to the middle east"
Iraq is better off now than in February 2003. Most Iraqis agree.

Sage: From what i saw on telly the other day, most IraQ7s felt safer when Saddam was in power, even after bombers like this and everythink!

Quit with the 1950s soap commercial jingles, my friend. No one believes the 'look at this one person sticking up his purple thumb! Most Iraqis agree'. Seriously, dude.
Wolfpack: don't cry your pretty little head over it, Obama will have the troops out soon enough. Of course, then you'll be upset about that, too. In other words, you're simply miffed about the fact that we have all been justified in criticizing bush from the get-go and you're childishly trying to turn it on Obama. Grow up.

It comes down to one issue and one issue only. Who controls the oil for the next 50 years is the winner. Morality aside.

They were feuding long before the infidel created the internal combustion engine and discovered in Messopotamia vast reserves of the fuel used to power it.

Canadian journalist Charles Krauthammer, in full, uh, "denial" mode:
' Preoccupied as it was poring through Tom Daschle's tax returns, Washington hardly noticed a near-miracle abroad. Iraq held provincial elections. There was no Election Day violence. Security was handled by Iraqi forces with little U.S. involvement. A fabulous bazaar of 14,400 candidates representing 400 parties participated, yielding results highly favorable to both Iraq and the United States. Iraq moved away from religious sectarianism toward more secular nationalism. "All the parties that had the words 'Islamic' or 'Arab' in their names lost," noted Middle East expert Amir Taheri. "By contrast, all those that had the words 'Iraq' or 'Iraqi' gained." '

Yeah, but we weren't "liberating" them in the west back then. Several times...
