The Taliban are being routed by the US and its allies. The country is now a democratic state with freedom of speech and expression.
Gordon Brown knows what he is talking about, all UK prime ministers have a hot line to their bosses in US.
Some liberals hate the great job of bringing freedom to Afghanistan, but to bad folks!!! Great job being done.
Prime Minister Brown is correct in his statement. Britain is a strong ally in our war on terror. The US and Britain share much more common values than Europeans do. Remember the Iraq war? Boy did those FRench let us down.
Terror in Afghanistan and worldwide will be eliminated by our strong military and force for good in the world. We need a strong president with military experience to keep the fight going, not a wishy washy pinhead.
Is British Prime Minister Gordon Brown actually looking at the same war in Afghanistan, that the rest of the world is seeing. 10 French soldiers just got killed the other day. More and more suicide attacks. And more and more attacks by the Taliban. < :-)
Otherwise, you are only condoning their actions against all things infidel. how racist and disgusting of you.
Sorry, just because you state that your proposition is "either or" does not make it so. Perhaps if you age well or achieve a higher level of education you will see that everything is not black or white. For instance I remember you made racist comments about Mexicans in the past. (Too bad our comments are not eternally archived - I would love my comments from the past to be available) Just because I fully stand by my comment and I believe that is only one of your racist comments I do not accept that you are a racist. Maybe you are maybe you are not. I don't have anything at stake in the matter so I frankly don't care. If you recall I have NEVER condoned bad behavior by Muslims. I just don't accept all behavior by the Muslim community as bad. I have personally have had and continue to have Muslim friends. But that should come as no surprise because I have had friends of every variety. My father was friends with a Cuban down the street from my house when both of them were still alive. I was friends with his daughter all throughout school (college and grad school was later and I did not keep in touch). I did not even know she was Cuban until I was about 17. When I found out it had absolutely no impact on me. Off the subject a bit? Maybe, but I felt that I use it to show I was not a racist when I was small and I still do not care about color or and other human attribute. I also dare you to claim I was any less upset on 9/11 than you were. I also want to add that I have fought with Sabiwabi consistently over the Holocaust issue and I bet you can remember that too. Afghans and other Muslims are no different than you or I. They come in many varieties. I am sure this post will be removed but I think it is very important to say that I believe the Muslims and especially the Afghans have been disenfranchised. That has led to a slightly higher rate of fanaticism. The good people of this earth will find a way to get along in spite of the nationalists and fanatics that exist in the world including some in the United States. I hope the Afghans can retain some of their ancient culture as they adapt to join the world politically and economically. Like I said earlier in my post if we had focused on Afghanistan we could be well on our way to success; having turned a country which contain our advisories into a stable friendship. It kind of helps to set boundaries and not expect them to like everything we do. We will one day find common ground where we can tolerate each other and learn to cooperate and if we were very successful we might even learn to collaborate. But for now it is still a war. I believe we must defeat the (طالبان) ṭālibān. I believe the real threat is (القاعدة) al-Qa`ida and they must be defeated. Muslims are not inherently evil. Since you (skipthesong)don't believe in god then you should see the solution much clearer. Many religions do harm. We must learn to abide by a set of rules that as countries we can engage when we find it necessary or desirable. Killing off citizens of this world because their country or religion has behaved improperly even to the point of unacceptable behavior is NOT an option. I expect salbiwabi to attack many of my assumptions and he is free to do so. I don't think he or yourself are bad people. I do want to say to salbiwabi that I think a major responsibility of the occupier is not to take advantage of the country, like Afghanistan, economically. That is easier said than done. Even the best of intentions can go astray when dealing with money. I believe we (United States) are pretty good friends with Japan; for that matter Germany also. I think it is the best result one could ever achieve as an example of "winning the peace." I don't think we will see it very often if ever again. But we (United States) compete with both of these countries economically very fiercely. I think it would be easy to label me pollyannaish due to some of the comments I made earlier about getting along with other nations. In as short of words as I could find I think I have made it clear that if we are ever to succeed in a relationship with Afghanistan the end game will be one of economic cooperation that is not opportunistic on the part of the U.S.
"I believe that our forces are making progress and will continue to make progress over the next few months," Brown said at a joint press conference with Afghan President Hamid Karzai."
What's he gonna say? "Run for the hills, the Taliban are coming!"
A delusional pair at best trying to polish a turd.
GD: you want to call me racist. That term is limited to a group. You can be black and hate, say Yellow people - in the US you are not a racist!
My rant against Mexicans if you read the post properly was not against Mexican-Americans, but illegal immigration, which I feel I have more of a right to voice against what is considered my own kind than you. We have a rivavalry with Mexicans, just like Poles and Germans, Irish and English.
Do you call any of them racist?
Anyway, if you feel the Taliban don't deserve to be hit and wiped out that is your right to feel that but you are in compliance to anything they do in the name of their form of religion because that is what they are doing.
Sabiwabi, a person who has linked to the freedom press, david duke like sites and anti-semetic content is trying to come up with a perfect pretty picture of them while you as well are completely demonizing any attempt to eradicate them. BTW, hang out with a few Afghans in Tokyo here and they will tell you they are happy the Taliban is somewhat gone.
If you want to call me a racist, you can but hear this - I am opposed to any religion that dominates people's free thinking and I hate religion being forced onto people, especially in this day and age. Any government that rules by religion is not a government at all.
I think it is very important to say that I believe the Muslims and especially the Afghans have been disenfranchised" That's the same excuse Neo-Nazi and KKK kids are being described about.. are you going to start calling for leniency on them too? Besides, how am I a racist, I never said anything about hating the make of these people as I have learned Muslims come in all shades we are just now learning how many whites are Muslims in the Russian areas.
The Taliban should have been wiped out by the Russians a long time ago but thanks to Ranbo, they were saved.
I still say, its disgusting listening/reading how people will cry about some US Christian groups opposition to issues like abortion but yet hug up to a much more conservative group of beings. Yes, I hate very conservative people and the most conservative people I find are Muslims.
Can you marry a Muslim woman? No. Can you have pre-marital sex with one - no. Can you even sit at a dinner table with them - no.
The real racist here Mr Donkey are the ones who decide to hate themselves so much that they want to cheer on the worse of the lot.
I believe the real threat is (القاعدة) al-Qaida" Hey, show me some, just a few of them protesting al-Qaida like we would see people protesting against the US government in San Francisco. No, better yet, see even a small protest of them like we would see in some small town never heard of for having the 10 Commandments is their court house.
Any point I made about your comment is now moot. You can say that you wrote anything that want to say you wrote and there is now no evidence to the contrary since they removed you post.
they removed you post." Well, congradulations to you, you have an ally. I just hope the mod doesn't have any racist feelings towards my kind..he/she does have a tendency to delete my entire posts even if they are on topic....
anyway, let me ask this: If I hate Nazis, I am not a racist. But if I hate the Taliban, an organization, not a race nor an ethnicality, so why should I or anyone wanting to dispose the Taliban a racist?
I would have said the same about Nazis or any other organization that runs on the "hate engine".
Now, let's get back to the story. G Brown thinks the Taliban are being beat and I say he is wrong. They have too many in their ranks. They have AQ as an ally which is far too strong and too much embedded in the minds of most young Muslims. I see a Tokyo-Berlin axis here.
The only way I see Taliban being beat is to stop them from being born otherwise we are going to have a constant issue. I can not see them living in peace with anyone - if I am wrong, please let me know. I've been wrong, proved by posters, and I admitted my wrong-ness.
Wasn't dick cheney the good donkey. george bush rode dick cheney's war lies all the way from Washington to Baghdad.
The fight against the Taliban was put on the back burner as soon as the george bush regime could so they could go on with their personal attack against Iraq. < :-)
Sabiwabi ... is trying to come up with a perfect pretty picture of them while you as well are completely demonizing any attempt to eradicate them.
Its not a question of me liking or disliking the Taliban. The point I was making is that this entire war against the Taliban (and Iraq) is based on a pack of lies. Whatever reason are provided by the coalition members mask their true motives, which are not to the benefit of the Afghans, Americans , or anybody for that matter, except a select few "business" people. This war never should have started, so what is the point of winning it.

Gordie needs to put the crack pipe down.
The situation has been getting gradually worse in Afghanistan since Bush started his other war.
