@Burning Bush "Shelling by whom ??????"

They would better write about Ukranian paramilitary units with painted NAZI symbolics on their banner and uniform.

What is life like for Ukrainian supporters in the east parts?

This typical of mainstream media reportage. Who is doing the shelling? Who initiated the fighting which is supposed to be "raging." It is like a weather report. When you see omissions like this you are forced to assume the Ukrainian forces, possibly the right-wing paramilitaries, who are initiating the fighting. And what does raging mean? I note also that "Russian backed" has become standard weasel-wording. "Backed" is a vague word with negative or positive suggestions, depending who you are "backing." It's either like cheering the Giants or like buying Giants memorabilia, or supplying the Giants with footballs. This weasel word is aways used in place of concrete facts.

Shelling by whom???????

Both sides apparently..

According to the OSCE SMM Spot report on 12 April:

The SMM observed shelling and/or SALW fire outgoing from the following locations: Kyivskyi district ("DPR"-controlled, 7km west-north-west of Donetsk); Kuibyshevskyi district ("DPR"-controlled, 7km west-north-west of Donetsk); a forested area one kilometre south-east of Spartak ("DPR"-controlled, 10km north-west of Donetsk); the area of "Ventstvol" mine (government-controlled, 12km north-west of Donetsk); and Butorskaya mine ("DPR"-controlled, 12.5km north-west of Donetsk).

...

Also on 12 April, from an observation point located in the eastern outskirts of Berdianske (government-controlled, 19km east of Mariupol, 1.5km west of Shyrokyne) between 17:45 and 18:00hrs, the SMM heard 25 incoming mortar rounds it assessed were fired from "DPR" positions in the east, impacting one kilometre north of the SMM's position, on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in western Shyrokyne. Between 18:00 and 18:25hrs, the SMM heard another 24 incoming mortar rounds impacting two kilometres from its position, near the E58 road. From 18:05 to 18:25hrs, the SMM observed 30 mortar rounds fired from a Ukrainian Armed Forces position along the Sea of Azov coast in southern Berdianske, 400m south-east of the SMM's position. Following a lull until 18:50hrs, "DPR" artillery from the north-north-east targeted these Ukrainian Armed Forces positions with salvos, probably 122mm howitzers. The SMM observed splashes in the Sea of Azov. The SMM departed at 19:00hrs but continued to hear artillery fire. The artillery fire was heard and shook buildings across Mariupol; it ended at 20:25hrs.

Not really but I'm sure it's consistent with your own bias

I note also that "Russian backed" has become standard weasel-wording.

It's accurate.

It's accurate

A couple of months ago CNN called Kiev regime troops "pro-American forces". Very accurate description, it explains a lot.

If you want to see how New World Order looks like - look at Ukraine....

By the way - may be it is a future for a lot of countries....

Wile kamikaze russian planes test the eastern EU airspace, Putin fussing about how broke he is along with the new Yemen arms embargo in place, expect more provocative destruction in other countries. Ah, forgot russia needs some trigger time too. And to remind the world how powerful they once "were"-

@Wc626 "kamikaze russian planes test the eastern EU airspace".

Never heard about "kamikaze russian attacks" of anything in EU airspace. It's time when due to lack of bad news we are beginning to create them by themselves.

"expect more provocative destruction in other countries"

Perhaps, Russians constantly bombed Iraq, Syria and Afganistan, for more destruction. Again, never heard about.

Burning Bush: And the shells that landed on civilian areas in Donetsk and Lysenko were fired from where?

Where are your sources saying they are fired from? And can you provide a link?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Burning Bush is asking for information. Quite fair and basic. Who is doing the shelling?

Note that "rages" is a hyperbole.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

He said that the AP intentionally omitted information, which means he has information. I wanted to see what the sources were and what the information was.

You can check the OSCE website on practically a daily basis and check out the SMM reports.

http://www.osce.org/ukraine-smm/151371

It's pretty clear that the two sides are shelling, mortaring away. If you, BB, Askaze, Olegek et al. are trying to imply that the DPR side isn't guilty of any ceasefire violations, you're ignoring the facts. It simply isn't borne out by the observations on the ground by the OSCE SMM teams.
