Obviously this win wasn't based on looks alone.

Congratulations to Miss Venezuela. They now tie Puerto Rico for 5 wins.

It's very ironic that Venezuela and Colombia were 1-2 when they are currently negotiating oil and peace accords. They almost went to war a few weeks ago.

Puerto Rico shockingly was left out of final 15, but 4 of the 5 Finalists were latin, a clear shot accross the bow to those who look to Eastern Europe for the new looks.

I was very surprised they went for Italy and Spain, which had washed up looks, and left out Czech Republic which was stunning. The Russian girl hadn't combed her hair in weeks.

Riyo Mori's pant suit was terrible, and she had a ponytail to boot. She didnt look good at all. She wasn't even wearing her crown. It was reported in the news that current Japan candidate had a nervous breakdown on stage during the rehearsals, but she did make the top 15.

Vietnam's contestant looked like she was 15, which I guess is normal for there.

"Obviously this win wasn't based on looks alone"

What are you trying to say, rjd?

"Altria - "Guess Miss Japan didn't place then?"

    Incredible, isn't it?

"Sporting yellow, green and orange bikinis"

No black or white or polka-dot bikinis?

"The Russian girl hadn't combed her hair in weeks."

Ha ha ha! Hey, that's the popular style these days...

Congrats. Not surprised it went back to a South American.

What is it with the recent Miss USA's, not used to high-heels?

  • skipthesong at 09:10 PM JST - 14th July

So proud to be Latin! We have the finest women in the world.

Nothing in the world like Latin women... Nothing in the world like Latin a woman's tempers either.

I am willing to bet Miss USA was probably high.

Two Americans trip in two years. Does this say something about the grace of American women in heels or about the heels themselves?

    Congratulations to Ms Venezuela.

Does this say something about the grace of American women

No it says something about the grace of 2 American women.

Two Americans trip in two years

    A hilarious coincidence.

"Riyo Mori's pant suit was terrible, and she had a ponytail to boot. She didnt look good at all. She wasn't even wearing her crown."

I disagree. I think Riyo Mori's pant suit was wonderful & I liked the idea of her hair in a ponytail & her not wearing a crown. I think she was making the statement that her reign is indeed over & she is definitely passing the honor onto the next Miss Universe.

    GO Riyo!!!

    Congrats to Miss Venezuela!!

Miss USA is a motivational speaker, therefore her new book should be "How to fall on your a$$ and get back up with a smile"

There's a huge rumor here in Puerto Rico that Miss PR was shut out because the franchise manager here owed The Donald $80,000. Too much drama this year too, with all the scandals here. Too bad for the girl, she actually had the best chance going in of all of them in recent memory.

See you punters next year in Vegas!
