Very shocking indeed (and very upsetting to Tenessee fans) -Steve McNair is a classy/farmer type guy.

His brother Fred was a QB for Alcorn State also (the original Air NcNair)

-shot in the head.

Terrible news. He was a quiet soldier and a good player. I remember a season he played with a broken toe, which must have been unbearable pain.

He never seemed like a ME guy, and he made something great out of what I seem to remember as a pretty average team.

I forgot, I read somewhere that he served in the Military before his career in football. Definitely a classy guy. He will be missed.

its looking like his little 20yo girlfriend killed him and then herself. his wife and kids must be devastated on a number of different levels.

VOR - They are. His wife had no idea he had this girlfriend. On the local news tonight, she was quoted as saying her whole world crashed down in an instant.

It's all very tragic. Four kids. Lots of fans.

If the 20 year old only realised that by getting involved with McNair means hurting his wife and family, maybe... this tragedy could have been avoided.
