I'm actually not surprised that France is the first country to step up to the plate and assist the US in dealing with ISIS, using more assertive actions. Contrary to the stereotype, the French aren't cowards at all, and they're not afraid to show how far they'll go when push comes to shove. Not sending in ground troops is the right move as well, though if they did, ISIS would be royally screwed. The French Foreign Legion is (last I checked) the most skilled Special Forces division in the world, one that trains both the SAS and Delta Force in Desert Warfare. But, putting boots on the ground is a bad idea in the long run. Stick with the airstrikes, and blast those extremists off the face of the earth. With France stepping up to the plate, walking the walk, other nations will surely follow, not wanting to be seen as being indecisive in the face of a very real terrorist threat.

More meaningless symbolism. You can not defeat ISIS by blowing up some buildings. All that does is make some Western politicians look strong for their voters, or so they imagine.

At least this is better than that coalition of two Bush Jr. put together.
