The 1994 genocide in the central African nation left around 800,000 people—mainly minority Tutsis and moderate Hutus—dead, according to the United Nations.

The most effective mechanized killing (largely low-tech, machetes) in the history of mankind. Far worse than Hiroshima. And France was a key player.

    Shame, shame on France.

I think the report exaggerates French involvement.

we fought an honorable war and treated our enemy with respect.

So Abu Ghraib, Gitmo, and the killing of civilians never happened...right...

RepublicofTexas; Of course the French were involved fully. The US has one or 2 bad apples out of a huge fighting force.

Damn French thugs!! Why don`t these guys learn how to fight with dignity.

French are such hypocrits, why oh why can`t other countries armies behave like the US.

    Same with the French.

    The French never "invaded" Rwanda.

REpublicofTexas; The FRench oppressors were complicite in acts of genocide. They were not fighting gods name.

These things are in our past and have ben apologised for fully, unlike your beloved Japan after it destroyed much of ASia. French and many countries commit genocide, they should be punished. Iexpect Bush to talk sternly to the FRench about this.

these are serious charges, and should be brought forward in the International Criminal Court for processing.

If there is significant evidence, then all of them should go down in flames...

i remember the Villepin doode. he was opposed against regime change in Iraq, but it was mainly because Iraq owed France billions in bonds that it would lose... no problem with going into Rwanda though...

China is setting itself up for this same situation in Darfur.

Theoretically, the ICC could rule against the US too if it deems what has happened in Iraq so far as torture. However most of the people that have been abused didnt make it out alive or with their minds intact.

Can't believe none of the posters yet don't see the game being played and why now, all of a sudden does this report come out.

  • Helter_Skelter at 01:22 PM JST - 6th August

    skip

In July, Kagame had threatened to indict French nationals over the genocide if European courts did not withdraw arrest warrants issued against Rwandan officials.

Is this what you're referring to?

If this report is indeed true, I'd like to see prosecution of these crimes. I expect the same treatment for each government.

Isn't being fair, fair? Then be fair to all. < :-)

  • skipthesong at 04:08 PM JST - 6th August

Helter: When you see things like this pop up, follow it. I am sure something in the realm of cash will be bought up or more aid.

800,000 thousand are literally cut to pieces by each other and now there is an outside agitator?

  • SuperLib at 10:51 PM JST - 6th August

Anyone who knows anything about Rwanda already knows France has blood on their hands.

  • undecidedbout08 at 12:10 AM JST - 7th August

What's with the French attraction to regimes that seek to attempt genocide?
