It was Babu Bhatt, the Pakistani restauranteur from Seinfeld. He must not have known that OBL was a, "very, very, bad man."

Leon Panetta said it right: it's either inconceivable that some members of the Pakistan intelligence didn't know that OBL was hiding there or they are incompetent. I tend to agree with the former. The top brass of the ISI may not have direct info about him but I bet my 2cents that a senior or a mid level officer had some info about who was in the house.

Invasion: an instance of entering a country or region with an armed force
Assassination: murder (an important person) in a surprise attack for political or religious reasons.
It doesn't matter whether Bin Laden was guilty or innocent. We never got the chance to find out.
Personally, I strongly doubt that it was him. The photographs look different and Bin Laden was on a dialysis machine for kidney failure in 2001. It's very unlikely that he survived.
We shall never know.
All the evidence was destroyed.

Did he wag his finger as he said that?
Of course somebody knew! So what?! You bust in there and killed someone without getting any approval. You guys aren't angels either.

Then you have POTUS to thank for unnecessarily risking the lives of the dozens who executed the mission, for unnecessarily triggering a goe-political fallout with Pakistan, and for needlessly handing our friends the Chinese a much coveted sample of our "stealth" MH-60 helo.

Who are you to doubt the Taliban when they acknowledged he was killed and vowed revenge?
PS Those photos that you saw were the faked ones. The real ones have not yet been released.

You just have to laugh at some of the people so upset Bin Laden is now fish food that they resort to conspiracies to help with the loss they feel.

The US support of the Mujahedin was far from covert, not was it covert warfare (i.e. intelligence). May be you weren't aware of it (if you were even around back then) but it was a pretty public part of the Cold War and Soviets along with the rest of the world was well aware of it. It was indirect warfare, not covert warfare.
