This is great news. As 10 percent of our population are homosexual it's about time people have the right to marry who they love.

“The decision took me by surprise and I’m concerned,” Bishop Juan Carlos, of the southern city Rio Gallegos, told the Argentine news agency DyN. He called the marriage “an attack against the survival of the human species.”
How ironic, expecially coming from a supposed celibate Catholic priest. He's certainly NOT openly doing his part to ensure "the survival of the human species"!
On a very positive note, I heartily agree w/moombeams: It's about time! Congrats to Alex and Jose Maria - may you share a long, long happy married life together.

Should be phrased:
The fact that there are other people who have other beliefs and do not think the sun goes round the earth took me by surprise and I'm concerned.
Libertas:
As the Chinese say, you've got more saliva than tea.

This is funny (not). I think that some people are just so scared of gay people that they look for things or list or assumptions that gays are "bad people."
I don't see why any two humans of legal age can't get married. I'm glad they found a place to marry. < :-)

Marriage: one and and one woman.
What's to understand?

daydream, marriage: one man and one woman.
I don't care what sexual business two or ten adults do in the privacy of their homes as long as they keep the noise down after ten at night. -Not my business.

I'm still glad Jose Maria Di Bello and Alex Freyre were able to get married without the bigotry of ones against it stopping it. < :-)

daydream, marriage is between one man and one woman.
Where's the bigotry?

USARonin you can repeat that till the lights go out, but it only makes it right in your mind.
The bigotry is the hatred and closed minds of those who are against gay rights. < :-)

daydream, it's very selfish for a small segment of the population to want to makeover the society they live in.
It's true: marriage is between one man and on woman.
I'm OK with the definition; you want to change it. I get that.

Thank you USARonin.
I'm sure that it's not a small portion of the population, as you believe, that believe in the right of gays to marry.
The only problem is your truths aren't mine. But that's life. < :-)

As the article says:
I would have thought the US as more progressive then the Latin American states/countries in the past. But when I read that these states/countries have legalized gay marriage, it makes the US seem backwoods on this subject. Gays just want the same rights as heterosexuals and be joined in marriage.
I expect that many more states in the US will legalize gay marriages in the next two years. < :-)

daydream, yep, that's the US... backward. Folks around the world have finally begun to realize this truth and no longer wish to come to America.
