Very good choice. Geithner and Obama are both the young and brash that have excelled early in life. There is a chance Larry Summers will get the Chairmanship of the Fed when it becomes available. Four Star General James Logan Jones, Jr.,USMC, may head National Security Council. As national security adviser he would not be the only Four Star in Obama's inter sanctum. Admiral Dennis C. Blair (Ret.), former Commander-in-Chief of U.S. Pacific Command has emerged as the top candidate to be President-elect Obama's Director of National Intelligence. It looks like Gates will stay on for a short time as Sec. of Defense.

Obama and the Dems are going to do their best to turn the United States into a socialist state. It'll take years to undo the damage they're going to do over the next four years. Cripes...

I think this is a good selection. I'm still hoping President-elect Obama brings on Gen. Zinni and will be disappointed if he doesn't. Although, after the last 8 years, disappointment is still a step in the right direction. It's SO much better than abject failure.
I am impressed with the way President-elect Obama is approaching the transition. He seems, to me, to understand that he must act quickly and decisively to undo the damage done by the historically inept bush presidency.
That gives me even more faith that he is the right person for the job.

As obama has starts naming people for his cabinet posts the one thing that stands out is he's not using the affirmative action policies he supposedly espouses so strongly. Maybe obama thinks because he is president the quota is filled.
The cabinet that he has proposed so far has been made up of old white guys and clinton retreads. The one black man he has suggested for his team was involved in a pardon that should have never happened, a pardon that clinton did on his last day in office so that he could skip out without having too many arrows shot at him.
So, where is all this "fundamental change in Washington" that obama promised and the American people voted for?

Anyway...I am impressed with the way President-elect Obama (do you ever tire of that?) is going about business. He is acting quickly and in my opinion, with the understanding that there is much work to be done. To use a football analogy, I believe he just scored a touchdown but instead of doing a touchdown dance in the end zone, he is keeping his head in the game. That is so refreshing after 8 years of a so-called leader who acted like he was still hanging out at his fraternity house.
If this is how President-elect Obama plans on running his presidency, I don't think we will have to put up with any pointless carrier landings and cod pieces during his time in office.
I, for one, will enjoy the intelligence and professionalism.

ramen,
Why are you so angry that you are not seeing the "fundamental change in Washington" that you espoused would be the downfall of America? Considering, in your opinion, President-elect Obama is not doing the things you said would be bad for America, I would think you would be happy.
This indicates to me that you care less for America than you do for your own hatred of Obama. That's pretty sad.
The days of Obama Derangement Syndrome have definitely begun.
