" While German politicians have alleged that the group is stirring racist sentiments with its anti-foreigner rhetoric, "

There is no "anti-foreigner rethoric" in Pegida`s policy statement. And there are non-German member in Pegida. It is a mazing how both the politicians and mainstream media have conspired to smear and misrepresent the group.

But I suppose it underlines the preference of the European elites.... they actually want islamization.

Individual rights and Islam are mutually exclusive.

I think trying to silence racists only makes them more so.

The planned demonstration in Dresden by PEGIDA, or Patriotic Europeans against the Islamization of the West, was scrapped and local police banned all rallies Monday after being informed of a call for attackers to kill Lutz Bachmann

So again these muslim fanatics lay down the threats and seek blood.

These people have every right in the world to protest their country's immigration policy with out interference, again we see islam trying to silence freedoms of speech and issue death threats, I hope the world wakes up soon to the threat being to posed to the western way of life.

Police should allow the protests and should ensure the safety of those participating as they would in for other march, the world is sliding off the table here and everyone is just standing around watching.

Sigh, once again we have to tell the officials Islam is not a "race" it's not an "ethnicity" its a political/religious "belief" system that can definitely be protested against and criticized intellectually.

Islamist can't coexists with others in non islamic countries without the detriment to themselves and the majority surrounding them. The very nature of their cultures and their religious interpretations (or misinterpretations) dictates that. For them the saying "while in Rome be like Romans" translates in "while in Rome change it to be like country you ran away from" They generally decry the conditions as a reason for fleeing their land of origin and then try to enforce those same conditions in the country that accepted them.
