Anti-Semitism and racism are a threat to our basic values

Too simplistic. Its not so much if one is racist or anti-semitic or not, its what one does with those feelings. Violence based on those feelings is the height of stupidity.

There are reasons to be against the Jewish religion. However, there are no reasons to be violent or discriminatory against a Jew just because he is a Jew.

But all this talk against anti-semitism has gone so far that if a Jew punched me, I would wonder if I would get accused of anti-Semitism if I punched him back. No you say?

Well, I have been accused for opposing Israel. Any little criticism of Israel, and the accusation often comes out. Offer any support for Iran, even those rare times when they are in the right, and it might come out. Point out a man like Paul Wolfawitz and his hawkishness on the M.E., and you might get accused of it.

While not all Jews are rich, or even good with money, a disproportionate amount do seem to be. But that does make his faith a problem. It is not at all necessary to even bring that up when being critical of a rich man. Scumbag greedy rich men come in all colors and all faiths.

But throw a rock in the dirt poor post-war Germany of the 1930s that never enjoyed the 1920's like others did and hit an expensive crystal glass store front, and odds are good that the owner was Jewish. But, again, no one should care about his faith, and certainly no poor Jew should ever be confused with a rich one. Had the people not made an issue of their Jewishness and not murdered but just robbed them and rich Christians alike, Kristallnacht would be justified in many minds even now.

But that is not what they did. They were stupid and horrible people that attacked based on faith. They let things get twisted in their minds. I think thing are just twisted the other direction now, and that is a danger of a different kind.

    CavemanLawyer,

Wow. Truly one of the more nonsensical posts I've ever read on JT. I wouldn't even know where to begin commenting. I'll just say that Kristallnacht was the beginning of a terrible chapter in human history that should never be forgotten.

I definitely like this post of Caveman Lawyer.

Exactly! would definitely be too simplified. "...just robbed..." love that.

How twisted would you say it is now?

70years huh, my grandmother would have been a little girl then in Germany....
