Germany kicks off celebration marking Berlin Wall's fall

I'll bet Ronald Reagan's challenge to Gorbachev, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall" had something to do with the wall's fall too.

The day that Sybil of Communist tyranny was torn down was a great day for freedom! Too bad that Russia is trying to relive their Totalitarian glory days by sticking their thumbs in their neighbors eyes.

But, as with all bullies they will have their reckoning.

Backpacked Berlin way back in '99 when sections of the Wall were still up. Awesome city at that time, rebuilding with amazing energy, the finishing touches were being put on the Reichstadt. Super nice people everywhere, too ! Congrats, Berliners - can't wait to come back some time! "Winds of Change... "
