There is a human tragedy going on. It is up to European governments to step forward and get this sorted.”

Indeed. Get this sorted.

Some european governments are already doing their fair share by letting these refugees "in" their communities and sheltering them. The only human tragedy is that they stubbornly attempt the perilous sea crossings.

walls had no place within the European Union.

Why not? If it stems the flow of islamisation into eastern europe. PEGIDA doesn't mind.

Most are heading for Germany, which is expecting up to a million asylum requests this year, prompting a backlash against German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Backlash? This will lead to her downfall. The German people won't tolerate 1M. That's an unreasonable number.

50000 per week equals 2.5 million per year. Add in 3 or 4 dependents per person and Merkel can look forward to welcoming 10 million invaders next year, not the "up to 1 million" she is currently claiming.

Let's hope the PEGIDA think tank can eliminate the islamisation of Germany before their churches become mosques and women take on ME'rn husbands.

That makes no sense - the dependents would be counted in the tally.

Although these deaths arte indeed tragic, what about the European nations sending people to Turkey and Syria to spread the word that migrants are not refugees and should not cross into Europe by sea. Is anyone dong this, I think not. If people hear that borders and relief for them is not available, they will/may change their efforts. Also many if not most of these migrant or refugees as the media calls them are not true war torn refugees but are people wanting to enter the rich European countries to get on their welfare system and have food and shelter while not contributing to their burden on those societies. This may or will sound mean but if a refugee shows up at a country's border and wants to live off of the welfare system, go ahead and feed and house them but give them jobs like picking up trash or washing clothes or some other low level job that those country's people would rather not do but make these so called refugees pay their way into that society from day one. They should also be made to take one to two hours of language lessons per day. A portion of their wages should be given back to the host country and put into the welfare system to compensate the host country for the welfare handed out. No more free lunches.

As long as the doors are open they will come and tragedies like this will happen from time to time. It's a risky journey and they are willing to take it.
