Have both men decided what their lifelong beliefs are this week?
No doubt, they'll have different liflong beliefs next week.
Amazing - I just read Gingrich says he would haev federal judges arrested if - as president - he thought they had made idiot decisions.
Would he object if he was arrested for the same reason?
When, oh when are conservatives going to front up with a serious candidate????

Gingrich has truly jumped the shark with his attack on the judiciary. Even dyed-in-the-wool conservatives are distancing themselves from him as quickly as possible. The man is a menace.
The infinite tepidity with which conservative newspapers have endorsed Romney has also been fun to read: "He doesn't suck as much as in 2008 and he's not as pathetic as the others" is how they can be summarized. What a quagmire the GOP has created for itself!

Obama's plummeting poll numbers are inflating the hopes of Gingrich, and they are inflating his ego.

Only candidate who's more of a joke than Newt is Mitt.
No, hang on: the only candidate who's more of a joke than Mitt is Newt.
No, hang on..... :-)
The GOP/TP candidates are falling over themselves to out-stupid each other.
Amazing thing is, these GOP/TP candidates wear ignorance as a badge of pride.
It's probably about time for Our Sarah to jump in to the race.
No, hang on, ...
lol!!! The conservative candidates' book tours - opps!! presedential race is getting funnier by the day. :-)

Opps! It's not "presedential."

JeremiahW - "You are a Bachman supporter?"
No, I would actually like America to have a sensible president, not a raving religious nutcase.

If this is the best the Republicans can scrape together, give me Obama anyday.

serendipitous -"If this is the best the Republicans can scrape together,.."
It is. Isn't that amazing? The Right has no one of any moral fiber, integrity or vision at all.

Its a sad line up. But don't none of you go writing off a clearly evil man like Newt Gingrich just because he also happens to be a little daft. I hope to God he does not win the endorsement of the Republicans. Why? Remember what happened in 2000? Yes, an ignorant and evil man can win the presidency. You better believe it.

As long as there is someone to vote for other than Obama I'm all in for the Republicans! It could be a twig in the forest. It would still be better!

Love Gingrich's plan for "community committees" to decide which undocumented aliens would stay and which would be forced to leave. The man just doesn't think things through: that would be Lord of the Flies on a national scale. And he predicts that only "7 or 8 million" would be forced to leave the country. How? By cattle car?
And the Republican opposition response to his suggestion is that, as a form of amnesty to those voted in, it is too lenient.
Sorry, folks: no room at the Republican inn!

I would bet Newt wins the nomination, simply because the fundamentalists aren't comfortable with Romney, and the other Republicans don't really like him much better. Newt is bright, in a way, but weird and aggressive, and he has made lots of enemies. Still, there isn't much of a choice, really. The only folks who will be voting for either of these guys are people who can't in good conscience not vote against Obama.

How 'bout Newt's plan for "dual systems" for both Federal income taxes and Social Security? As for the latter, the upper 25% of taxpayers need only opt for Newt's "tax lite" option to automatically save thousands! - or ... millions?! The rest need do their taxes twice to see how they are least reamed. As for the former - well, letting people opt out of a pay-as-you-go system certainly wouldn't hurt the finances of the current pay-as-you-go system as long as you stop paying - or keep let it add to the deficit, and then complain about how it's bankrupting the country.
So here is a man who would like power to unilaterally dismiss the judiciary, who would like neighbors to vote in or out their undocumented neighbors, who stands to set a dual-track taxation and benefits system - and he calls Obama "radical"?
The man truly must be doing all he can to prevent himself from being elected - his wife must have found out what the presidential salary is (not to mention taboos on post-presidency buck-raking); otherwise, why would he be sayin' this stuff, unless he were clinically insane?

Both Newt and Mitt are both a joke!

I think it's pretty silly to say that Gingrich and Romney are beginning their "final campaign pitches." We're not even at the Iowa primary yet, which, oh, by the way, is notoriously inaccuarate at picking a presidential winner.
That was a very poor headline.

I am suffering from republican primary fatigue. But I understand that the commentariat aren't too eager to put the spotlight on Mr.Holder, or the four million pricetag for the First Family getaway to the Hawaain Islands,or the smackdowns in Congress. Or that Muslim Bro hood thing.
