They did it to themselves by not making the economy priority 1.

They did it to themselves by letting left-wing radical wackos run the party.

Now, the news would be even better if incompetent Republicans like McCain and Brown can be thrown out of Congress.

You know, whats even worse for Dems, is the fact that is happening now. The GOP is going to pick up seats everywhere. The Senate may flip, the house will flip, and a whole lot of Govonors are flipping as well. Whats worse, for the Dems is that this trend is almost certainly continuing onto the state level. Meaning that when redistricting happens, its going to be extremely tough for the Dems to take back the house any time soon. They'll certainly lose more in 2012, though after Obama is out of office, in 2014, at the Midterms for whoever is the Republican President, they'll certainly get some pushback, and depending on how things are, they might make a run for control. But for the next 4 years, Republicans are going basically have complete control of the purse strings.

incompetent Republicans like McCain and Brown can be thrown out of Congress.

But if you threw out the incompetent Republicans there would be nobody left in the party.

SuperLib is right though. Obama was a failed president the minute he appointed Geithner and Summers, and then he doubled down by reappointing Bernanke. He ignored the elephant in the room and went off on his ridiculous health care adventure.

Republicans have no intention of doing anything about the economy either. They will just continue the policy of "extend and pretend", or worse, they will do something stupid and trigger the next crash. But if they win in November then both parties will have enough rope to hang themselves with. They will both own it, and they can go down together.

Spoken like a true Party guy! Does the Demo party pay you? Or are you just a volunteer cultist?

I actually agree with you here. Though I have to admit, I'm a bit surprised to find a lib here, who is actually critical of Obama, and not just a normal kool-aid drinker. I applaud you for your critical analysis. I myself had to endure years of defending Bush from the extremists, while simultaneously taking heat for criticizing him myself. Its nice to know, I'm not alone in my critical reasoning, even if its on from the opposite side.

Very cynical. I hope you're wrong. I hope that when Republicans retake the house, and possibly the senate, that they dig in their heels and refuse to throw more good money after bad. Cut deficit spending entirely, balance the budget like they did back in the 90s. If they can manage that, put things on a positive footing again, then I think the economy will turn around, burdensome regulations or no.

Wow, sounds like the republicans have already won. They are already measuring and picking their drapes.

Republicans, I think you're counting your chickens before you crack your eggs. < :-)

Who said I was a liberal. I just happen to think that the Republican party is completely 100% useless, and Obama and the Democrats merely almost 100% useless. Nice choice you got there, but then not saying any other country is much better.

That is exactly the rope I am talking about. A perfect recipe for a deflationary collapse and massive depression. Already happening in Ireland, Greece, and some eastern European countries.

There is a theory out there that the reason Obama does nothing about the economy and the financial system is that he was told very quietly when he took office that doing anything ran the risk of bringing the whole thing down. We'll see if the Republicans follow the same message if and when they get control of the house.

Ahh, but you didn't say that. You chose instead to bash Repubs without mentioning Demos at all. If you had not only attacked 1, then I would have agreed with you. But you ignored the party in the headline just to take a shot at the other one, which makes me think you are a Demo.

Naw, he's actually not American, so doesn't really factor in. He just has more in common with the libs and Obama, then he does with the Reps. This is actually quite common around the world. Where everyone thinks the Dems are the good guys, and the Reps, the bad guys.

    Molenir,

Well, you can't blame the world. The Reps are more blatant about America being #1 in expense of the world. How do you think the world would feel? ;)

It will happen whoever wins. Obama and/or Republicans cannot keep printing and borrowing money forever. Just look at his plans for winning some seats in 8 weeks time.Tens of billions of $ of handouts to businesses that would have failed long ago in a true free market..

Deflation = depression? Only if you believe that the only pleasure or fulfillment in life comes from consumer goods

No we're not. Brussels is the capital of the free world - Biden already said that.

    manfromamerica,

But Biden is a Dem. They do the same thing, just a bit less blatant about it. ;)
