Occasionally the pirate hoodlums are caught. Just the other day 2 were shot dead:http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7725771.stm But their attack hijack success rate will continue to be high as long as nations whose ships plow these very wide waters are not seriously committed to protecting their vessels. Only concerted efforts of mentioned nations will be able to get rid of this dangerous scum.

Who is leading the pirates? You've got to get to the pirate's captain or ultra-rich westerner who's financing the pirates.
Until you cut the head off the snake, it continues to strike. < :-)

these punks really got balls. It must be an incredibly dire situation in Somalia to go out and challenge all of the most advanced navies in the world. And for what? the upside for them is rather limited anyway.
they would probably make more money if they stay in their homes and start emailing business proposals to unsuspecting Japantoday readers.

Well the ransom for the tanks might have payed off, but what I want to know is who's at the helm of these vessels. Come on its a few guys in a dingy attacking these ships, thats like a prius trying to run a Cadillac brougham off the road. I wouldn't hesitate to run them over.

Why do not the naval forces of the world do something? They are pirates according to international law the countries of the world are able to stop, detain, prosecute and jail them. Yet even the Russians do nothing. About the ships why do they let them on? What about defending themselves? Are they all so eager to go into captivity or are they in league with these fiends perhaps getting a cut of the ransom.
