In Arkansas last month a Salvation Army major was shot and killed in front of his three children by two armed robbers. What is the country coming to?

“People say why don’t you check every check? We have old ladies who send us a dollar and we’re talking at this time of year we have anywhere from 500 to 1,000 checks coming in a week,” she said.

But 25 Grand? Would you not take the time to make sure of this amount before you spent the cash? I bet next time you will.

This is just too sad. Maybe they should have checked it first, but ultimately that doesn't matter. It's not something they should have to check... I hope they find the dirt bags that did it.

I agree with Okinawamike, especaiily when the check represents 10% of the total donation of that particular SA has received.

The end of the year is big donation time of the year and the Salvation Army. I'm not surprised that they don't call to check out all the checks they received.

I'm sorry that some creep screwed them like this. < :-)
