Homicides of transgender women in U.S. reach alarming high

This is ghastly. Between the police who shoot unarmed blacks to bigoted mobs who kill transgender women the US is a frightening place.

They have documented that numerous victims were killed by intimate partners and many while engaging in prostitution.

Perhaps these hideous "transgenders" should stay in the closet where it is safe. By Engaging in prostitution, they're are knowingly placing themselves in danger.

The homicides are evidence of a backward society still in thrall to religious delusion and bigotry. Not unexpected given America`s history of lynching black people and oppressing homosexuals.

I salute the transgender men and women fighting at the forefront of the human rights battle. They are putting their lives on the line and are true heroes.

Both scenarios are quite true. You two are not at odds. I wish most people were more tolerant and less violent, but they aren't. That said, a lot of transgenders play with fire and I for one am not surprised they sometimes get burned. I think both, or rather, all sides could and should be more respectful.

From what I remembered a few years ago when California voters were voting on the gay marriage law, it didn't pass and when calculating the percentage of black and Latino voters, 85-90% were against gay marriage.
