The GOP really made my day. In a bid to introduce an alternative budget to that put up by the Democrats, 38 GOP lawmakers voted against a plan supported by their own leadership.
Ha ha, just when I thought the GOP was gaining a semblance of crediblility, they go and blow it.
They effectively have just followed former VP dick cheney's lead and shot their friends in the face. LOL!! :-)

"The administration’s budget simply taxes too much, spends too much and borrows too much at a moment when we can least afford it,” said the Senate Republican leader, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.
Heh, after 8 wasted years of GOP rule, including taxing too little, spending WAY too much and borrowing like there was no tomorrow, the world is now bearing the brunt of the worst global downturn in 80 years - sparked in America under the watch of george bush, Mitch McConnell and his cronies in the GOP.
Senate Republican leader, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky needs to know that no one with a smattering of braincells is taking him seriously.

"Republicans in both houses accused Democrats of drafting plans that would hurt the recession-ravaged economy in the long run, rather than help it, and saddle future generations with too much debt."
After his party saddled future generations of Americans with $6 TRILLION in debt.
Refuting GOP arguments is like shooting fish in a barrel.
You just can't miss. :-)

Refuting GOP arguments is like shooting fish in a barrel. " Than don't waste your time, but again, its no reason to jump in bed with the dems.

skip, there's no one else with any credibilty to support.
Ron Paul......who is Ron Paul?
See my point?

Ron Paul......who is Ron Paul?
See my point?" No, I don't. Why are you bringing Ron Paul into this?
My point is that since the repubs have no credibility, and they don't the Dems do, and they do by default. It doesn't mean one has to be a cheerleader here. With the using "inherited this", what they are saying is "we don't know nor do we have confidence this is going to work, but hey at least we are better than the repubs and if this fails, we still have the repubs to blame.... That's what you are leaving us with.. you know that don't you?

When things start getting back to normal the GOP will start try to give credit to the Bush administration. These guys only know how to hurt America, they would not try to help America because their leader (Rush) would get upset with them.
Sad to know that the Republican party is ruled by a radio talk show host.
Soon the GOP will be no more......just a matter of time before the different elements of that party start to war each other.

Soon the GOP will be no more......just a matter of time before the different elements of that party start to war each other." that may very well be the case, but do you really have that much faith in the dems, which sadly to point out is run by a rich white lady whose never stepped foot in our type of places. You think Reid would like guys like us near his daughter?????

I don't like Republicans and George Bush. They created this mess and now they are making it worse because they are anti-American and they like war and oil and doing what's bad for the USA. The budget.

Skipthesong - "Why are you bringing Ron Paul into this?"
Because Ron Paul was at one stage seen by some as an alternative to both major parties.

The shambles the GOP find themselves in is pretty amazing.
All of them voted against the stimulus package last month.
38 of them voted against the budget package this month.
It makes me wonder - what is the GOP actually supporting if some of them can't even support legislation their own party coughs up??

Considering you placed your vote for Obama in November, at least your view is reasonably coherent, if not rather confused. :-)

I don't like Democrats and Barrack Obama. They created this mess, are already the worst adminstration in history and now they are making it worse because they are anti-American and they like socialism and the environment and doing what's bad for the USA.

No one has done more than Pres. Obama for the republican party in such a short amount of time since Abe Lincoln!
The republican party had totally lost its way and were a far cry from the "Grand Old Party." But...now, look at them and how they've changed!
Before Pres. Obama, republicans didn't believe in the right to disagree about defense matters with the Commander-in-Chief during a time of war. Well...now, because of Pres. Obama, republicans are free to exercise their right to free speech and open debate regarding defense matters.
Before Pres. Obama, the once, long ago, fiscally conservative republicans, had become the party of spend, Spend, SPEND!!!!
But now, again, thanks to Pres. Obama, republicans are once again able to admit that we are creating a terrible national debt that we, as a nation, will pass on to our children.
Pres. Obama has granted republicans freedoms they haven't had for 8 years and restored a sense of fiscal restraint for their party.
Truly, a historic president.

Or niether party has any real credibility, it's a shame that American politics has fallen so far, but as I said before that is what happens when the parties pander to extreme left and right. Viral partisan politics is going to do nothing to help the current situation.

You, as well as the other delusional bush supporters, made me laugh so hard I almost spit my coffee onto my screen. When are you Republicans going to learn that spending $10 trillion on Iraq and adding $83 trillion to the national debt is exactly what Bin Laden once said would happen? Humans aged 8 years under bush's watch. You have no credibility left at all.

I think Madverts is 100% correct. Clinton allowed for the death of Glass-Steagall and created conditions that resulted in Sarbannes-Oxley. The economic troubles have only worsened since the Democrat party took control of Congress. We would be better without them.

Point 1 - Ron Paul was the only true republican running in the elections. The others were republicans in name only (RINO).
Point 2 - It was Phil Graham and his republican members thet pushed for the doing away with regulations that controlled a lot of Wall Street. They created the derivitive problem. Bill Clinton like a fool signed it for the republican congress.
Point 3 - I like how republicans were trying to puch through their health care plans. This would hurt the poor even worse in 11 years from now.
Point 4 - Even when Wall Street turns around (which it slowly is) and the home buying market gets back on their feet with responsible lending (which it is right now very slowly) the republicans will never give Barack Obama the credit due. People like McConnel and Boehner will the dogs at his trouser legs, gnawing and barking. < :-)

Dems own the recession.

teleprompter - "Dems own the recession."
The one that started under bush and his band of thieves.

No the whole country owns the recession created by the past administration. Barack Obama assumed responsibility of the country. Now he's in charge of getting the country out of the ownership business of this recession.
I've got faith in the country to pull up their bootstraps and get the country back into fiscal responsibility. Yes we can. < :-)

Superlib,
"When are you Republicans going to learn that spending $10 trillion on Iraq and adding $83 trillion to the national debt is exactly what Bin Laden once said would happen?"
Bin Laden is a democrat and has secret links to Barrack Hussein Obama, who is in turn a secret muslim convert. When EUrope succumbs to the recession, and ultimately their Islamic over-lords (it's a demographic thing!!), the disaterous budget the democrats have passed will make our great nation weak.
The dems own the recession and all those wars I don't agree with now President Bush is out of office. Obama, what a disaster.
The Dems own thee

Jeeze, Madverts, your typical Republican delusion makes me wonder if the word "unpatriotic" can be increased to the extent that it could actually fit people as unpatriotic as yourself. It's like your breaking new boundaries that makes me laugh so hard my coffee almost hit the screen of the coworker sitting in the next office on the 80th floor of my Class A office building in a rich part of Japan. You and your ilk and the dwindling number of bush supporters on his watch; The Budget.
George Bush.
