Hun Sen has a valid point, it is wrong to make such conclusions based on generalities. On the other hand, the terrorists themselves claim that they are acting on behalf of Islam and by "the will of Allah." This is, of course, not at all true. But it does leave the public with a bad impression of Islam.
It would seem that bin Laden and his crew have the view that all Christians are crusaders. 900 years ago this might have been the general feeling of many Muslims. Too bad binny is so behind the times.
"Oh, my... then we best hate and kill ALL arabs, huh? I heard the Swiss gave protection to Nazi monies in terms of bank accounts.... Guess we better kill the Swiss, too!"
I'm sorry smith but I don't see anyone here calling for the deaths of all Muslims. I don't see anyone here saying that all Muslims are terrorists. I actually don't see anyone here saying much of anything that you're claiming.
Right now you're blindly throwing his fists around. Why not tone things done, check the sensational statements at the door, and join the discussion like a civilized person. You'll be a better man for it.
No Smitty, it is you that is way off: show you proof, http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/id/2543
Again, what we all have here is people like Smith who feel what causes that decided to support is 100% without any fault.
What Hun Sen says here is more or less directed at people like yourself " Yes, everyone is so mean to the Muslims" and they got them all wrong.. Yet, you still fail to see that a very large group of people have been practically brain washed into believing the fight against non-believers should lead to no less than death, yet you are upset that I am concerned/or willing to at least put up a fight. You call it Genocide so JT lefties here can come down on me as it would really get them torched up, one word, basically like a little kid.
If the Muslim people as a group are going to get all hyped up about some second rate news agencies, then they need to do more about what they are showing to the world! And I am surprised that Hun Sen, a leader of a country would come down to the level of CNN and BBC and waste his time on such a speech. He would better have spent his time trying to convince Muslim Clerics that their approach to the modern world needs to change.. instead of living in some Amish-like world.
outhousejt: "It becomes a paradox when countries like Israel and US tells Muslims to become moderate when the 2 countries are anything but moderate."
Really? I didn't know that in either one of those countries the punishment for homosexuality, abortion, a woman being raped, or DECIDING on converting to another religion is death!! I guess we should all get the heck out of there.
outhousejt: "It becomes a paradox when countries like Israel and US tells Muslims to become moderate when the 2 countries are anything but moderate."
No, the paradox here is when lefties the world over want Western governments to ease up on their conservatism while at the same time the hug and kiss all things Islamic even to the point that the turn a blind eye to what they usually are against happens on a daily basis in those countries
Ah, Hun Sen, the latest expert on islamic doctrine. I wonder what his religious credentials are... could he have a private talk with Sheik Nasralla, the Ayatollhas Khameini and (soon) Al-Sadr, Yussuf Al Quaradafi, Abu Bakir Bashid, and Osama Bin Ladin to explain to them that they got it all wrong about the religion of peace?
eally? I didn't know that in either one of those countries the punishment for homosexuality, abortion, a woman being raped, or DECIDING on converting to another religion is death!! I guess we should all get the heck out of there.
I don´t think bombing more than 20 countries and killing millions of people to be any moderate. Neither do i think huddling the indegenous people in refugee camps to be moderate.
I always thought for some time the recent the world news quality from the BBC has gone down hill and isn't good enough. I think the bbc as a paid educational service could do more and employ better strategies to help educate its main audience about the bigger world(no the world is not a small place)... especially if all you watch is bbc uk terrestrial tv ( that is the worst in this case! the bbc international version news website is better)
You always used to hear people in the uk proclaim proudly how good the news coverage is in the uk, often citing how good the uk news is contrasted to say the US.. but thats the problem in the UK, most people in the uk know naff all about news from other sources.. the world is a little bigger.
I think the UK(and many other places) could benefit from a bit more outside looking in tv instead of inside looking out for its world news intake.. it may help world understanding. they should also stop going for the lowest common denominator and stop trying to cover all the audience with one news broadcast,. they have more than one channel and they should use that more at peak times to split focus from local, uk national, and world ( and not the usual "blinkered" world coverage). I know the bbc reporters are very proud, but they could do a lot better I reckon in delivery. Not that I think they are doing bad compared to the current playing field.
Terror is integral to the supposedly revealed text that is at the center of Islam. There is no way around it. There are literally dozens of verses exorting the faithful to violence against the unbeliever.

Now, that is a paradox.

Religious peoples & Politicians are the cause of the most trouble in this world. Jail then, and let us get on with our lives.

Hun Sen should really stick to commenting on subjects he knows about.
Maybe next he is going to tell us that Communism is a religion of peace, and Pol Pot was really only a great prophet who must not be cartoonized.
