The most poluting countries China and USA should pay money to make solar power plants in Brazil. If Amazon is gone all will die....

@realmind: What does China and the USA have to do with this? It's a Brazil problem. Also, if they were going to make solar power plants in Brazil, they would need electricty to run them. Obviously if Brazil feels the need to build the 3rd largest dam in the world then they need electricity.

Brazil is also a leading producer of oil and natural gas too. And the US is not as big as a polluter as India and some of the other nations in the world. We do have tough standards in regards to environmental protections, more so than China.

I will agree with you on preserving the rain forest. They need to be kept as best as possible. But if you take a look at where a lot of the word that is cut and raw materials that are mined are going, and you will probably find out that they are headed to China.

Brazil should be ashamed of itself! White Brazilians have never cared about the native Brazilians, only about $$$$! But not just Brazilians, this happens from Canada, to USA, to Mexico all the way down to Patagonia. The rich folk only care about getting more and more $$$, the poor natives are just like trees, stones, things to be blown out of the way in the name of progress, in the name of making more electricity, we should all be ashamed of ourselves for not protecting our planet more, the Amazon jungles and all of the jungles and forests of our planet. IMHO.

Ok, so why?? No fun to just get thumb downs and no explanations, maybe you can not explain or back up your own opinions? Brazil, as the rest of many of other countries has rich, greedy people, do they care about the Indians?? NO!! Do they care about the Amazon jungle, yes! Yes only if they can rape the jungle for gold, for silver for trees etc..
