Poor guy: he's begging for civility because he knows what awaits him in the lions' den he's just entered. For his sake and ours, let's hope he doesn't rise too high in the polls, or he'll get mauled in a way that will further divide America.

He will walk away with the establishment media's Repub primary recommendation. They are desperate to have a Dole or another McCain up against their hero Obama. Most Repubs i know just laugh whhen you mention Huntsman.

He seems a pretty reasonable and down-to-earth person based on his comments, best of luck to him.

Didnt those 'un-american' factors were caused by George Bush Jr's leftover problems unsolved? And he was a republican!

During Huntsman's tenure as Governor of Utah, Utah was named "Best Managed State."
But that's not the reason America needs him as president. America needs a president who can speak Chinese, and he can speak Chinese.

Wake me up when Sarah Palin announces she's running.

OK, five rhyming campaign slogans in one minute. Ready, go!
Huntsman, not a dunce, man.
This dog don't Huntsman.
Huntsman chokes up on the bat and bunts. Man!
Huntsman runs up to the ball and punts! Man!
OK, I won't even say the last one or the mod is gonna delete my post.

I like Huntsman as a person. I've met him several times, even had dinner with him once. Hes a good guy. Having said that, I disagree strongly with his politics. Hes essentially another Bush. A big government Republican, at the same time, he's generally a social conservative. He supported cap and tax, he supported the porkulus bill, actually thought that waste of money should have been bigger. He was in favor of a type of Obamacare system. You can understand why the media would like him. You can also understand why most conservatives don't want to get anywhere near him.

Huntsman is far too moderate, too civil and too much of a human being to survive the republican primaries. He's going to need a lobotomy and a soul removal if he wants the GOP nod.

I won't support Huntsman for the Republican nomination because he supported an even bigger stimulus spending plan than Porkulus Maximus.

Huntsman is Mormon. SInce the MSM believes this disqualifies Romney I am confident they will paint him (and Harry Reid) as an "extremist."

Seven interesting things Texans know about Rick Perry:
Few Texans would vote for him. As people have been saying, Perry's not exactly popular in his home state (but, as he told Neil Cavuto last week, "a prophet is generally not loved in their hometown."). An independent poll released June 16 showed that only 9 percent of likely Republican voters in Texas would support him for president.
He supported Al Gore in 1988. When Perry first entered politics as a candidate for the Texas House in 1984, he was a Democrat. He remained a Democrat until he ran for Agriculture Commissioner in 1989, when he joined the Republican party. (In 1988, he not only endorsed Al Gore for president, he headed up his campaign in Texas.)
"Adios, MoFo" His infamous catchphrase from 2005 later became a Texas Democratic campaign slogan: "Adios, MoFo." He had been referring to a reporter when he thought he was off-mic.
He likes to show off his religious piety: The governor has become increasingly Christian over the years, asking Texans to pray for rain and to join him in a Day of Prayer and Fasting to solve the nation's ills. It was sponsored by the American Family Association, which is known for its extreme anti-gay views.
He backs trans-national government: In 2007 -- way before all his anti-federal ranting -- Perry pushed hard for the Trans-Texas Corridor super highway, a.k.a. the "North American Union" under NAFTA. Conspiracy theorists in Texas (i.e. Alex Jones) accused him of trying to create a single nation consisting of Canada, Mexico, and the U.S., living under one currency, the Amero.
Sued over HPV vaccines: In 2007, he bypassed the Texas legislature and signed an executive order to require HPV vaccines for all 6th grade girls. It did not sit well with conservative Christians and a lawsuit was filed by a group of concerned parents. Perry's former chief of staff Mike Toomey was a lobbyist for Merck, which created Gardisil, at the time. The legislature repealed his order.
Called the BP oil spill, "an act of God." : (He considers many things "acts of God.")

Heh, Yabits, for once I agree with you. I would not vote for Perry, unless he was up against Obama. Then I'd hold my nose like I did for McCain, and Bush, both times. I think we've had enough Governors of Texas to last us awhile. The guy I'd most like to see President is Christie, but he's not running. Barring that I'm leaning towards Romney or Bachman. I like both candidates, but am not sure which would be better.

"Adios, MoFo."
Gosh. That's jusst horrible.
I hope Perry doesn't win.
Cuz that is gonna be on t-shirts bearing Obama's likeness.
And they'll be worn by millions...

With the graphic warning pictures now being placed on packs of cigarettes, perhaps they should consider pasting Christie's image in the snack cakes section of every supermarket.

Huntsman. The media flacks like this guy because he is "nice." IOW - he is a Dole or a McCain who will not humiliate the Naked Emperor. The only primary Huntsman wins is the one held by the lib media.
