If I recall correctly back in 2006 a couple wanted to get married on the iceberg that came close - well a about 150km - to NZ but were not allowed because it was not a public place.

They should toe them over to California with its water shortage and find a way to save the ice.

Does this mean that there was global warming back in 1931 as well???

oh...so the current global warming is a natural event then...

then there is no reason to freak out like so many do. Patterns of warming and cooling have been going on since history recorded such things. You can find serious creditable scientists who will tell you this, as well as the ones who join Al Gore's camp and tell us we'll all be dead in a few decades.

Just means they had the right weather patterns in 1931 to send the icebergs towards NZ. As the article said, "Icebergs are routinely sloughed off as part of the natural development of ice shelves". Nothing too unusual there. It's the rest of that sentence that might interest you if you are so interested in global warming, though... "but Young said the rate appeared to be increasing as a result of regional warming in Antarctica."

But, as bushlover points out, we've got to get past 2012 first!
