Ah, the first has fallen. I see that French slime Cahuzac has his name in there too, hopefully he'll be headed to gaol this time instead of getting a slap on the wrist from fellow elitist last time he got caught making a mockery of the taxpayer...

Any news on Don Putin investigating himself or has he given himself the all clear already?

Since then Icelanders have weathered a deep recession and been subjected to tough capital controls — another reason the prime minister’s offshore holdings rankle many.

They word this like Iceland is in trouble, but the fact is they are doing excellent right now. They took a hair cut on all the fake debts, and prosecuted the bankers who didn't escape. The capital controls for 2-3 yrs after were real, but now I don't think it matters unless very large sums of money are exchanged. This is a very different financial condition than Ireland, Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal etc who took on the new IMF debt.

Iceland is so quaint.

The different reactions around the world are interesting. Where you have a strong rule of law you hear about investigations and resignations. In countries with dictators it's been dismissed with a waive of the hand. In the end I supposed people get the government they deserve.

Interesting that charming little Iceland finds itself at the center of yet another financial storm. It really is the canary in the coalmine.
