Pollard is a traitor who should have been hung instead of life in prison. The Israelis are scheming to get Pollard free and the Obama administration is being led down the path of ignorance by the so called Jewish friends. I do not trust the Israelis. Where are the politicians on the Hill when we need them to stop this charade? Do not free Pollard.

Why on earth should the U.S. release a convicted spy serving a life sentence in federal prison as a concession to the Israelis? That sort of extra judicial appeal for clemency (as an international bargaining chip) is akin to transacting in ransom. Senator McCain is righteously sticking his patriotic chin out by saying hell no to this kind of diplomatic dereliction. If the inaptly named "Peace Talks" have descended into such an abyss that the U.S. is offering to release a spy to facilitate meaningful compromises then it is time for all the multilateral participants to withdraw completely.

@horzon360 Unfortunately, there is no sign that the Israeli regime is even considering 'meaningful compromises' for itself. They are, of course, demanding total surrender of rights from the Palestinians, and acceptance of perpetual second class status by them.

Pollard deserves to rot for the rest of his natural life the crime that he committed. Israel wants him out and will say whatever to get him out. This doesn't mean that they will hold to their end of the bargain.

If the US gives Israel Pollard in exchange for their promise to sit down and talk peace.

If we do this outrageous thing why not sit down Russia and exchange Robert Hanssen or John Anthony Walker if they agree to talk peace in Crimea?

I hear that Communist China would consider rethinking their South China sea policy if the US gave them Chi Mak and his entire family of spies.

Again, Pollard should rot in the hell he is now.
