New Delhi: At least 3,000 security personnel, from Delhi Police and para-military forces, were manning roads in the heart of the capital to stop any violent demonstration, said a senior police officer on Thursday.The officer said that to maintain peace in the capital, the force was put on every crossing leading to India Gate.

Come the weekend they will be back in greater force. Especially if the victim dies. =They are blocking all access to the area and spreading out enforcement to limit people's ability to gather. =That will only work for so long.

Meanwhile another woman has just committed suicide after being raped, and then being given the choice by the police of accepting money or marrying her attacker. These riots will flare up again, as badsey3 says.
