Can the Indians send some more of their people to Japan?
CrazyJoe
The two most populous countries, both nuclear armed, sharing a common border and diminishing resources, in particular water. Why does this not make me feel warm and fuzzy?

It's a pretty grim forecast as much of the growth will take place in countries that are complete dumps. As a result many of the people will be looking to migrate somewhere else, making our countries increasingly resemble theirs.

Demographics are destiny. The sad truth is that the human race will likely become poorer, stupider, and more violent on average in the future.

Hint to tell them to stop breeding like bunnies. But the poorer a country is the higher the birth rate. We really need to start learning to terraform and colonize nearby planets if they don't get a cap on it.
nath
Considering that the human race has consistently move to be richer, smarter, and less violent over time, this statement doesn't seem to have any basis in reality.

What goes up...

Well you learn something new every day.

The forecast shows a continuing of rising populations in countries that suffer from extreme poverty, hunger/famine/starvation, and disease. It's like a never ending cycle.

To some degree they are the same thing. But to answer your question, it's a studied phenomenon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flynn_effect
The reasons (eg. being constrained by the threat of punishment) are irrelevant to whether or not humans are less violent. All that matters to quantify whether or not humans are more or less violent is the levels of violence that occur. And some numbers on that: http://www.pri.org/stories/2014-10-23/world-actually-safer-ever-and-heres-data-prove

"The world’s two largest nations, China and India, have well over 1 billion people each"
They had better start taking lessons from Japan on how to decrease their populations.
