Poor Indonesia they have been hammered by nature in the last few years.

Geez... which country's next, I wonder.
Osakadaz: I agree... but then, they are living in one of the most volatile regions on earth. The only country that's more dangerous is Japan (with the exception of volcanoes, for which Indonesia takes first place in terms of hazard). Of course, most Indonesians can't help this.
Anyway, I hope this isn't becoming a daily Ring-of-Fire trend, or we're screwed.

Let's not forget the Philipines who are still struggling to recover from the floods.

TokyoLurker, perhaps you can check with the Japanese embassy about any nationals or casualties (I really hope not, for your friend's sake):

Hopefully Indonesia will ask for some international aid, if and when it's necessary; those poor people.
