I guess al-Qaida's claim to have a nuclear bomb ready to go off somewhere in the event OBL was killed or captured was another big lie.

The claim that al-Quaida has nukes was probably cooked up by the Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir rather than al-Q or bin Laden. Where that got embellished to a nuke going off if bin Laden got nabbed I don't know. But it seems to me the world is full of liars on all sides. In fact, the latter sound more to me like something cooked up by some punk in America and it somehow went viral.

I guess terrorist info gathering isn't all that good. On a slow day you might just end up with a busted up empty train car and a pissed off Amtrak operator. Or do they actually think that people in the U.S make frequent use of trains?

I think they meant subway trains as those are the only real trains in America.

ihavegreatlegs, maybe, but do US subway trains travel over valleys and bridges?
Quote from article above: "One idea was to tamper with an unspecified U.S. rail track so that a train would fall off the track at a valley or a bridge..."

Of course they would prefer a spectacular event, which strikes terror in the hearts of the unbelievers. That is why attacks on aircraft are still the no. 1 favourite. A train falling off a bridge would be good for them too.
There is no particular value in telling us this "news". Obviously, jihadists all over the world are constantly pondering the most spectactular ways of killing lots of us. As if that was news...

Well at least someone was showing an interest in rail in the US.
