The Malaysian govt had no idea how many jihadist pilot in their country was the cause of of the MH370. And they will never take a serious security clearance of their country after such a tragedy that matter their own country 's reputation .

For anyone (like me) who didn't know of the top of their head where the island of Reunion is, it's about 500 miles (give or take) due East of about the mid-point (North-to-South) of Madagascar (that big island off the East coast of the African continent. Reunion is along the Western extent of the Indian Ocean.

You got all that from part of a wing washed up on a beach? I'm impressed.

As far as I can see from reading what the experts are saying is it's definitely part of a wing of a Boeing.

I seems to remember that there were some predictions that this was one of the areas that wreckage could wash up if it did indeed go down in the area they were searching......

Thankfully, the people cleaning up the beach had the presence of mind to consider that this part of a plane might be important. At any time now the experts should be able to tell us if it came from the missing Malaysia Airlines passenger jet.

There are a couple of serial numbers written on the 'flaperon'. Surely a simple email or phone call to Malaysian Airways Engineering or Maintenance departments could quickly confirm if it belonged to one of their planes?

wanderlust. I had the same question. Why the long wait to confirm what should have been relatively simple to confirm?

Plus, the photos should have been enough to easily confirm it came from a 777, and since no 777s went down other than MH370, the conclusion it came from the plane seems obvious.

It was confirmed on the news yesterday.
