Gen. Ahmad Vahidi told Iranian state TV that the cruise missile, called Nasr 1, would be capable of destroying targets up to 3,000 tons in size.

Is that big? How much does an elephant weigh?

Oh Oooo, next stop Tehran folks. Do they really think that the West is going to let them get away with what they are trying. The Iranian people better rise up and oust their leaders before the US makes Tehran their next stop towards changing the middle east into satellite states of the US of A.

Cruise missiles are highly advanced, usually subsonic rocket-powered weapons that can hug the ground and hit targets with great precision.

Incorrect. Cruise missiles are almost always powered by jet engines, not rockets.

Iran's looking to pick a fight with the West to shore up support at home.

Iran sits in the eye of a storm. Iraq on one side, Afghanistan and nuclear Pakistan, recently invaded by the Taliban on the other and U.S. military all over the place with warships in the Persian Gulf too, and you will never guess why its called the Persian Gulf! Meanwhile, Israel, Iran's sworn enemy, a missle's throw away and also believed to be nuclear.

I can't imagine why the pleas for them to relax are falling on deaf ears! Can you? Hey, I know, why don't we all threaten them some more! Yeah, that will work! When you corner an animal, they got nowhere to go!

Iran has made so many announcements that it's made a lot of people nervous. But there are too many countries, with much more militarily, and they aren't going to attack anybody. Iran is hoping that someone would attack them. That would justify attacking any one of their neighbors. But they also know if they were to attack another country, they could be wiped out. It's a lot of bravado. < :-)

Gee. Maybe Iran should stop swearing and just make peace then.

kinniku, I am writing in my memo pad that you think Iran is currently at war. Don't bother explaining your position by saying things such as you meant a war of words or a psychological war or that you were talking about funding and arming Hezbollah. I will mention your error in a future and slightly unrelated comments section to assail your character. Enjoy the wait.

Oh, and Iran is not currently at war. Or do you have a link saying otherwise?

    HeyLars,

You are incorrect. Iran and Israel are not on peaceful terms. Iran cut off all diplomatic ties with Isreal in 1979 and immediately declared Israel and enemy of Islam. If you think this is an example of a peaceful relationship between countries, your definition of peace is a lot different than mine. Oh, better burn that memo pad before someone realizes you don't know what peace means.

    HeyLars,

You also might want to notice that you acknowledged the antagonism Iran has for Israel when you wrote 'Israel, Iran's sworn enemy**. When you have an enemy, it generally means you are not at peace with them. Get it?
