They (the Iranians) would be extremely lucky if they could stop a long range, low flying, terrain hugging, supersonic, radar avoiding, laser ranging, satellite guided, bunker busting carrying cruise missile.

Any country would be playing war games to protect it's security. But if we watch them we might just pick up a slip by Iran and we could see something we were not aware of. < :-)

If Palin were prez she would impose sanctions on Iraq and cut off its money supply. That would certainly put a halt to Iran's nuclear ambitions.

That sounds like something that Palin would do.

Imposing sanctions on Iran is not that easy, Bush tried but because China and Russia have veto power as well as the US, only moderate sanctions were passed.

I hate to sound like a right-wing armchair warrior, but at this stage in the gale I see little other than a military strike to deter Iran. Up 'till now they have been engaged in a enriched urine extraction process.

Oh come on now, Sarge - are you, of all people, going to say that we have to give certain countries the benefit of the doubt when it comes to weapons of mass destruction?

You haven't thought this one through, have you? Don't you remember another country saying - much more truthfully - they had no WMDs, but that wasn't good enough to stop a great moral campaign to go stampeding in?

Young sarge's Predictions are somewhat of a backwards folklore here on JT.

That said, I'm far more comfortable knowing that Israel has nuclear weapons than I am knowing that Iran is trying to posses them.

As much of a backwards folklore as "Young Sarge". Iran is NOT making weapons grade fuel. Fact. Inspectors say so. The IAEA says so and they even admit it themselves. The corporate media have been given their orders to throw the focus back on to Iran.

Here is a recap of what they are trying to make you forget.
1. Last Spring, Rose Gottemoeller, an assistant secretary of state and Washington's chief nuclear arms negotiator, asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Israel refused.
2. The United Nations passed a resolution calling on Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.
3. The IAEA asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.
4. Iran's formal notification to the IAEA of the planned construction of the backup fuel-rod facility underscores that Iran is playing by the rules of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty which Iran has signed.
5. Iran allows IAEA inspections of all its facilities.
6. Contrary to face-saving claims, it appears that the US and Israel were both caught off guard by Iran's announcement. The reasoning is simple. Had the US or Israel announced the existence of he new facility before Iran's notified the IAEA, it would have put Iran on the defensive. As it is now, the US and Israel seem to be playing catch up, casting doubt on the veracity of Israel's claims to "know" that Iran is a nuclear threat.
7. The IAEA and all 16 United States Intelligence Agencies are unanimous in agreement that Iran is not building and does not possess nuclear weapons.
8. In 1986, Mordachai Vanunu blew the whistle and provided photographs showing Israel's clandestine nuclear weapons factory underneath the reactor at Dimona.
9. Israel made the same accusations against Iraq that it is making against Iran, leading up to Israel's bombing of the power station at Osirik. Following the invasion of 2003, international experts examined the ruins of the power station at Osirik and found no evidence of a clandestine weapons factory in the rubble.
10. The United Nations has just released the Goldstone Report, a scathing report which accuses Israel of 37 specific war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza earlier this year. Israel has denounced the report as "Anti-Semitic (even though Judge Goldstone is himself Jewish), and the United States will block the report from being referred to the War Crimes Tribunal at the Hague, thereby making the US Government an accessory after-the-fact.
So, the "We" of the "We The People," "We" need to stand up and scream, "LIAR!" at every politician and every talking media moron that is pushing this war in Iran. And we need to keep dong it until they get the message that we will not be deceived any more. Unless of course, you believe their lies? Fool you twice, eh?

I'm, like, really hoping that the last two comments were just attempts to stir the pot, right? I mean, why would you build a uranium enrichment plant in a mountain if you didn't want to use it for making weapons grade material? And why the heck would anybody want to attack Venuezuela?

BTW, nobody is pushing a war in Iran or Venezuela execpt the despots who rule those countries. Seems to be a good way to deflect criticism.

=We must crush the remaining holdouts (Iran, Venezuela, Cuba etc), steal their assets, and indebt them to the Fiat ObamaDollar. -Only until then will we have complete control over the populace and be able to take on outerspace !! I, Your mighty Clam-Head leader have spoken.

Where did you get the idea that the US had anything to do with Israeli nukes?
