99% of the time Iran throws around wild accusations at the West, but in this one case they're obviously right and common sense dictates this is one guy the US and Israel wants dead. Good for them. Too bad Iran is the boy who cries wolf so it doesn't matter.

nuclear scientist sides with opposition to oppressive government, may know secrets of Atomic bomb program and ends up dead. Yeah sounds like Obama's handy work.

lol, sounds more like the Iranians cracking down on someone who knows something potentially dangerous. More of the same from Iran.

    This sounds like two things.

    1. Iran's leading party sending a message to the opposition while not attacking one of its primary people.

    2. An excuse to divert attention by claiming he was killed by foreign spys, which also allows the message from point one to be sent without taking full responsibility.

Murdering someone with a bomb-rigged motorcycle set off by a remote trigger. Sure sounds like Israel's MO.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry had no comment.

    You gotta love the Israelis!

Iran pro-government supporters are taking out anti-government protesters and those who could be a voice against the government. < :-)

No, not really. They're more into the laser guided bomb thing. Not the this silliness. Sounds more like the mafia, except this being Iran, I'm leaning more towards one of them government gangs.

There have been several defections (to the West) of a few key officials in Iran's nuclear prog. One of the possibilities is that one of them (defectors now abroad) were giving up the Iranian goods and recruiting others inside. Word is this guy was on the list --so the apparaus "took care" of him before the West got to him. 'Course, the apparatus uses a more delicate MO, so either that, or IL went after him and wanted to make a statement -else, again, a more "silent" MO.

    All speculative.

As an expert in the region I have to point out that since the assassination was a success - from the assassin's point of view - the notoriously inept CIA can be ruled out.

This guy has been murdered by the Iranian government. Whenever the Israeli spies are successful at a target, Iranians keep quiet, at least until it becomes public, to avoid embaressment. This time they acknowledeged it so quickly that everyone guesses it was all planned. No crap is as dirty as the Iranian government in today`s politics, and I guess has never been.

Whenever anything weird or "bad" happens in a Muslim country, the Muslims will always blame the West, particularly the U.S. and Israel. They should, instead, seek reasons and inspirations in their blood-thirsty ideology.

The Iranian government has the most to gain by the professor's murder. The Iranian government needed a martyr of their own to offset Neda; the professor was an opposition-supporter; they can shift the country's focus by blaming the assassination of a nuclear physicist (symbol of pride among Iranians but at no loss to Iran's nuclear program) on a couple of old enemies.

The Iranian regime are such cranks no one believes a word they shriek anyway.

They might as well blame Lord Lucan.

This headline is misleading. The group actually claimed responsibility for this. Check a different source: http://www.presstv.ir/detail.aspx?id=116030&sectionid=3510203

But I know a disreputable group of thugs in Tel Aviv who have a habit of doing this kind of thing, and then foisting the blame elsewhere.

These incident has hot things up in Iranian politics and Non-Iranian politics .

Cool headed politics should prevail in Iranian and Non-iranian politics.

I'll put my money on the Iranian hardliners wanting to make an example of an opposition member and potential security risk. Two birds with one bomb. Plus they've told the opposition and the physists that this is what happens if you don't go along with the regime.

Then you can blame the enemy and try to deflect criticism from your own failed policies. Nice trick.

The other thing is that, if this guy wasn't involved in the nuke program but was just a lecturer, why would either the US or Israel want to kill him? Makes no sense to me.

Iran wants to always blame the US who support Israel and try to wipe out all of us Jews. Get a clue Iran. Ain't going to happen. You are a loser country with a loser govt. hurting your own people.

Perhaps you could share with us some of the intelligence you're apparently privy to.

Helter Skelter, Love it is obvious from their past executions. It is too complex for the Iranians to do. Case closed!

    ChrisBiggins,

Don't underestimate Iranians. They're smart enough to develop nuclear reactors. 1979 Americans underestimated Iranians who then overthrew the Shah and kicked the Americans out.
