Iran’s uranium enrichment program has been the key point of contention. The Bush administration had insisted that Iran scrap enrichment before talks could begin—a demand Iran repeatedly rejected. On Wednesday, a senior official said the U.S. would be prepared to let Tehran continue enriching uranium at the current level for some time.

That's probably going to be the grease that gets the wheel moving, assuming the Europeans are OK with that, too.

Why did george bush and the US go out and work with Muammar Gaddafi to bring him in? Peace and world stability. (That's one of the few credits I can give gb.) So why not continue to try to work with Iran. Is there ever a time to just say, they aren't worth it?

I don't for one minute believe that we can or should try to change their way of life. I just want to live in peace. I would rather they not have nukes and wish we'd dismantle more of ours.

They for the moment want to play nice. Let's see where it leads. < :-)

So why not continue to try to work with Iran." Well, thank god we didn't take that approach in dealing with the Nazis. Unfortunately, now we are.

SuperLib it's got to start somewhere. You always sound like we shouldn't even make an attempt to get some cooporation. < :-)

All I've been saying all along is I would like to see peaceful cooporation between the US and Iran. Are you against that?

Lybia was tired of living outside the fold of friendly nations. How exactly it was done, I'm not really concerned about the specifics.

I just know I'd rather have Iran as a friend then an enemy. It appears that Iran is saying, "Hello.... want to talk." SuperLib I'm just glad to see some friendly dialogue.

Maybe you don't want to try. That's your choice. < :-)

Iran don't trust America. Their promises are worth nothing. Ask Georgia, Palestine, even kim il nutter over in N. Korea started to dismantle until he found out that US was all lies. Unfortunately, the nuclear deterrent is the only way to protect Iranian oil from the hyenas.

Agreed. The US got it backwards. I wonder if Iran will test a nuke this year?
